I have now completed Star Trek: The Animated Series. From March until now, I have watched Enterprise, Discovery, The Original Series, and the Animated Series. This is how I grade them:

Good Trek-
Enterprise Seasons 3 and 4
Discovery Seasons 1 and 2
The Original Series
The Animated Series

Bad Trek-
Enterprise Seasons 1 and 2
Discovery Season 3

The Animated Series had two new characters. Lt. Arex replaced Chekhov and sat in his chair. Lt. M'Ress sometime substituted for Lt. Urhura at Communications. These two alien were not better than their human counterparts.

Discovery S2 is a great season. I've never understood the haters issue with it all. Like Trek revealing something that was never discussed is something new.

I thought 3 was a marked improvement over the 'Michael cries over everything' 1 & 2

Um, how's it great? Pike was good and the time crystals were an interesting concept but Control was too much of a generic AI and the time travel was inconsistent.
