Not sure about your comment of "This one is with Supergirl #300!" since that wording almost makes it read like the issue would have been "Supergirl #300".

By the way, that issue was cover-dated June 1983; Supergirl's involvement with the Legion dates back to quite a few years earlier:

from Action Comics #276 (May 1961)

It was always a pleasant read. Tight writing, good art, consistancy all the time.

I really liked the Anniversary issues in the 80s.
A bunch of them, like this one, Batman #400 and JLA #200 are classics.

Legion of Super-Heroes #300 might reasonably be called Superboy #300, since for the first 230 issues of the series, the title of the comic actually was Superboy, and it was called Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes for the next 28.

But Supergirl? Not so much. She was a member of the Legion, but interacted with them in relatively few adventures. Superboy, by comparison, was in practically every Legion story of the 1960s and 1970s.

That said, that particular issue of the Legion is one of my favorite all-time "anniversary" issues of any comic—and perhaps my favorite one. With few exceptions, the Legion stories of the Levitz/Giffen era are fantastic. (The main exception being #307-310, "The Prophet and the Omen". Ugh.)
    Currently buying:
Print: Superman, Nightwing, Super Sons, Doomsday Clock, Young Justice, Books of Magic, Batman: Creature of the Night, Ascender, Birthright, Black Hammer, . Digital: Action Comics, Batman, Detective Comics, Batman Beyond, Flash, Justice League, Titans, Teen Titans, Deathstroke, The Wild Storm, Terrifics, Naomi, The Dreaming, Star Wars, Black Science, The Magic Order, Gideon Falls, Giants, Archie, Riverdale, Maxwell's Demons.

Griffen/Levitz is another very underated team.

When Pharozonk was on these forums he would always talk about them. Great creators.

The Grandaddy of them all. Did anyone else enjoy the fact that Dream Girl was leader of the team during one of the (if not THE) biggest battles of all time.

I take it this story happened before the flight rings?
