Thanks for the recommendations. Tomorrow I'll be checking the back issue bin.

    Thanks everyone.

Also saw this on reddit, which helps too.

Uncanny X-Men 196 is the issue I always recommend to new readers since it's a self contained story but it's a good introduction to all of the other side stories going on. The main plot is Xavier "overhears" a thought that someone is going to kill him while lecturing at Columbia University. The X-Men have to investigate.

Uncanny X-Men #201 - Storm vs. Cyclops for leadership of the X-Men. Plus: Cable's first appearance.

Uncanny X-Men #268 - Two stories for the price of one. During the present-day, Black Widow enlists Wolverine's help on one of her missions; while the flashback sees the first meeting between Captain America and Logan as they team-up to rescue a little girl from the deadly Hand.

Such a good one, and great Rachel foreshadowing. I’d also recommend the issue Storm loses her powers, and 193. It’s basically where Claremont started setting up his subplots that would develop into the Mutant Massacre.

    150 & 200 were both Magneto centric.

    Uncanny X-Men 244

The one where the X-Women go to the mall, get fabulous makeovers, and stop some idiots from capturing Jubilee (in her first appearance). Also, Rogue has a meltdown when Carol Danvers redecorates her room.

    I support all of these. Also: UXM #182, #183, #186 (Lifedeath I), #198 (Lifedeath II) - TNM #18-20, #45, Annual #2...

Geez, there's so many! And I'm leaving apart Excalibur and complete arcs!

I really like the self-contained Forge story in UXM # 263. Lifedeath part 2 is fantastic

Possibly my favorite single issue written by Chris Claremont is New Mutants #45 - We Were Only Foolin.
    Matt Murdock's cooler twin brother

I'd give the Devil benefit of law, for my own safety's sake!
Thomas More - A Man for All Seasons

Interested in reading Daredevil? Not sure what to read next? Why not check out the Daredevil Book Club for some ideas?

Although it's right in the middle of the Dark Phoenix Saga, I always like Uncanny #133. One of the best Wolverine issues ever.
