Speaking about Batman killing, I was reading Batman The Golden Age Volume 2 and on the third issue or so there's

That is the earliest retcon I saw in the series I think because he shot The Monk and Dala with silver bullets and killed one of Dr. Strange's Monster Men with a gun from his plane only... half a year of publication ago at the farthest.
That note is after he got Robin and the books started to issue moral messages for kids.

Jason was already heading down that road when he was Robin. In a story shortly before A Death in the Family it's heavily implied he killed a rapist.

No, it's up for interpretation whether he killed him, with Jason saying he fell. And at least one person responsible for the book saying he fell as well.

Not to mention that Jason was only presented as "angry" during this storyline as part of the lead up of killing him off.
