I have a distinct preference for superhero, but I have other interests.

My favourite recent non-superhero series was Jem & the Holograms.

A little of each, but with superheroes I'm more likely to prefer old favorite characters (or related/connected) to brand new ones from other publishers.

I think comics do superheroes really well. It can do fantasy and science-fiction really well, given the strengths of the medium, but has mainly decided to concentrated on the cash cow.

Having said all that: I love comics mainly because of superheroes.

    Non-superhero.

While I love the superhero genre, I prefer my comics to have definite endings and not cross over with other books, and especially not have big, stupid events.

I like both and I like to switch things up and read something superhero related, then crime, then horror, then superheroes again, then sci-fi etc.

Superhero but I find that non-superhero stuff can be legendary.

I like them both. If I had more money and time, I'd hunt down more of the non-superhero stuff from the past that I missed out on.

I grew up on super-hero comics in the 70s and 80s, and I still read some, but for the past 2 decades it's been more about non-super-hero comics for me. As a kid, Conan, Tarzan, Star Wars and the occasional ghost story comic were as far afield from super-heroes as I wanted to go, in the 80s I got into things like Dreadstar, Usagi Yojimbo, V for Vendetta, the Incal, etc. but in the 90s I got turned on to Will Eisner's stuff, discovered McCloud's Understanding Comics, and by the end of the decade super-hero stuff made up only a tiny fraction of what I was reading. In the early 2000s, I sold off my entire Silver Age Marvel collection and a lot of DC stuff too, but kept most of the non-super-hero stuff, and to this day it is about an 80/20 split of non-super-hero stuff to hero stuff that I buy, and most of the hero stuff I do buy is because of the creators involved not the characters.

When I was young, definitely superheroes.

Now (at 46) I'm erring more the other way, but I still have a lot of love for both.
