And she was friends with Etta who knew her as a person. Yeah the kid knew her as WW but that didn't stop them from bonding. And I fail to see how she would have had better luck if she was Diana Prince. Using a secret identity to deceive people is as far from a true, honest bond as you can get.

And people pointed out the Diana Prince identity was completely pointless in the pilot. Note that no one was claiming that she should have had a secret identity at all

Whatever, we're never going to agree on this. Secret identities are tropes of the genre because they serve valid purposes and it's not like Diana not having one has made the book any better once the novelty wore off 20 years ago.

As it stands now she does missions for A.R.G.U.S. as favors. She has no boss, comes and goes as she pleases and seemingly her only contacts there are Steve and Etta. The Picket and Sasha Bordeaux that Rucka set up are no more. It was better when she worked for Sarge Steele at the Department of Metahuman Affairs because at least then she had a real job like the rest of us, thereby making her more relatable and more of a supporting cast, but if you can't see that fine. I'm sick of the goody two shoes that can't lie or be in any way deceptive, it's unrealistic and boring.

Also it would be better if she referenced what's going on in JL Dark and her other appearances from time to time. It would give her more of a real life and make her like an actual human with time restraints and multiple obligations. But that never happens unless it's in the midst of a crossover so we're back to the unrelatability again.

Trying to bring it back twice didn't improve anything either. It won't now.

Again, she held three different jobs at least in post crisis when she didn't have a secret identity. The DMA thing was as far from relatable as you can get. She had no friends, no contact with her family and her only relationship was with a guy who hated her false identity and lusted after her superhero alter ego. If anything, she was more solitary then than she is now. There was nothing realistic let alone interesting about that set up.

Once post Infinite Crisis and a second time in the New 52 when she was dating Superman.

During the Messner-Loebs run she originally worked for Taco Whiz a fast restaurant and later worked with Micah Rains' detective agency. Then she went back to being an ambassador sometime around Jiminez's run. All three were done without Diana needing a secret identity and she still had friends.

Hoppy was her friend, she worked with Micah Raines for like 1 issue, the embassy staff were her employees and none of them were on equal footing with her.

What exactly are you defining as equal footing here?
