Well, that would have been about thirty years after that illustration was completed?
And remember, the main thing an artist might look for when using a person to pose for a comic book drawing is more the positioning of things; they wouldn't have to have the exact same measurements/features as the character being drawn, but you would want how/where they hold the gun, etc. to help the overall composition. (Besides, how many women do you know who have legs that are that tall and thin? And do you think most of Sienkiewicz's work is photo-realistic?)

It depends. That figure is exaggerated but for example his Dazzler covers had less exaggerated proportions

Just saying if you hadn't mentioned her name, I would not have made the connection. The face is too small and looks fairly generic. I never knew she modeled and that is an interesting bit of trivia.

Not relevant to this competition, but Wendy Pini used to model Red Sonja for Frank Thorne. There are photos of Wendy in Sonja's iconic chainmail bikini holding a sword.

But again, I don't think she looked for work as a "model"; it was more that she did some modeling for his artwork as part of her art assistant duties.

That cover represented lots about what was wrong with Marvel books in the 90's during the "Extreme" era: ridiculously big ass guns (thanks for nothing, Rob Liefeld), Sue's stripper outfit, shoulder pads for days, pouches galore, not to mention just about everyone wearing vests or jackets (and didn't Johnny look particularly stupid on that cover?). Needless to say, I don't miss that decade.

I liked the 90s.
But surely, the FF were never meant to be Extreme.
This illustrates the problem of the comics industry, or any industry in general. Everybody follows a certain trend no matter how ridiculous it is regarding their product, service etc.
