Who's going to be in the new Guardians of the Galaxy?

I like the line-up so far though I wish there was more women on the team, Sersi and Singularity come to mind as characters not being used at the moment or Marvel seemingly does not have plans with. However, I think as long as they are not focused on movie continuity, and just writing a good story, this should be promising run.

Honestly, the movies being (most likely) dead will probably be a huge boon to the GotG comics. No more need to chase film synergy.

I don't think the movies are dead, per se...I think we'll get one more GOTG with Quill, Gamora, etc. at some point. Anything beyond that, though, I'm skeptical.

And I'm sure this series has been in development long before the Gunn situation happened...comics don't work fast enough to be that reactionary.

Not that I'm looking for a nit to pick but...I would have loved for Monica Rambeau to be a part of this team as a third female. I loved her in The Ultimates. I'm 90% on board.

Sersi is dead

She's been dead before. Didn't stop her from coming back (like most comic book characters).

Depending on how this plays out...this could be good. Donny has been killing it lately.
I also think that the mix of the Abnett-Lanning Guardians (Star-Lord, Groot, Moondragon, Phyla-Vell and Adam Warlock) mixed with the Annihilators (Silver Surfer, Gladiator and Beta Ray Bill). I also like the fact that Nova and Darkhawk were apart of the Annihilation sagas but never added to the Guardians after seems to be finally rectifying the past slight or missed opportunity. And, of course, Cosmic Ghost Rider, whom Donny created and has a hit with would be a part of the lineup.
I think that this is a book that going to go back to the original Guardians concept in the Abentt-Lanning run and less of the lovable rogues that the Guardians have been. They have a lot of power on this team (Groot, Gladiator, Silver Surfer, Nova, Darkhawk, Phyla-Vell and Cosmic Ghost Rider) so this could be an epic run.

I also don't really see Gladiator (who leads the Shi'ar Empire) being able to provide too much time to the team. If he doesn't stay long I would replace him with Quasar (Wendell Vaughn) or Genis-Vell. Spectrum and Blue Marvel would also make nice additions.

So, that leaves Gamora or Drax as the Fallen Guardian. Since Rocket is joining the Avengers in Avengers: No Road Home, at least for this story.

I like a large team. But in this day and age with books getting canceled after 6-7 issues, I worry about everyone getting enough time to develop their stories and shine.
