Back in October an interviewer asked Sophie if she is up to be in the MCU. That same month someone asked Kevin Feige if Deadpool survived the snap. Recently, in a Glass interview the interviewer asked James and Sam about teaming up again as Xavier and Fury.

I also remember reading the comment section of the trailer on YouTube and saw some people asking if this was in the MCU because of the deal.

Why is the media trying so hard to ruin this movie before we know if it is bad or good? there is so much negativity to this film. should the media be doing this? The bias is so clear. it's hard to find any positive news about dark phoenix. the media is so in MCU pocket. X-Men fans wait till june. the media also did the same thing with Aquaman. there was so much negetive coerage about auqaman, they tried so hard to ruin the movie, aquaman turned out to be the most successful DC move ever.

The director and cast need to speak out on the negative coverage of dark phoenix. Patty Jenkins did it with Wonder Woman when the media was also trying to ruin wonder woman.

People aren't really interested in this film being in the MCU they're interested in the X-Men being in the MCU and want to know when that is happening. Clickbait media is the worst because they ask these questions just so they can post stories where it's all hypothesis based off comments actors make based off their own opinions. The sad thing is the merger had overshadowed this film since it was announced.

They are aware and even if it has been debunked. seeds of doubts are still getting sown.

Depending on the people. Watered down X-Men movies are going to be fairly interesting to people. the demo of those interested likely don't have the right to vote yet. poor x-men.

Has anyone considered that maybe the X movies reputation has taken a beating, that theres been far longer radio silence then most sites are used to and that the repeated release date moves (even for the right reasons) gives off a feeling of lack of confidence.

Took a beating with Apocalypse, Deadpool 2 and Logan was after. What reputation is there to worry about? X-Men reputation is about to get trashed joining the MCU cooperate factory.

The release date changes was about the Disney/Fox deal taking effect.

There should be less lack of confidence now that X-Men will be in the MCU even if dark phoenix is a turd. I have seen this negative coverage on Aquaman. the media shills should find a new job. it's bad journalism to have spread something that was a lie. shame on looper.

I dunno. I saw comments explicitly ask about the movie being in the MCU. Most people don’t seem to know about the difference between these Marvel-based properties.

Kevin Feige also made some similar comments a few years ago. That’s probably the reason why why they moved the release to out after Captain Marvel. Fox taking advantage of people’s ignorance.

Seems to add legitimacy to Kinberg's claim that Dark Phoenix was moved in part to get a better release date in China, especially considering how well Apocalypse did over there.

As for a lot of the false narratives regarding test screenings and the sort, I don't know that the "media" have an agenda: I just don't think they take the time to fact-check because that might mean getingt beat to the punch on reporting it. So a lot of these places probably just shotgun out whatever they hear in an attempt to get clicks. No skin off their nose if it isn't true because they already have your money once you click.

That said, there are some people out there that have agenda's. It seems like Grace Randolph has been pushing the "they're not going to release this movie" narrative for a while now, so when she saw that tweet from some rando that knew a guy that worked at a movie theatre whose manager was told to take down DP promo material, she ran with it. It's probably BS, but it fit her narrative.
