Well the trailers dont have that level of fun we have come to expect from an MCU trailer and as far as Drama. It just doesnt feel fresh, feels like something I've seen before and didnt care for it much the first time. I'm hoping the trailers are misleading. McAvoy,Hault and Fassbender deserve to end this franchise on a high point.

Logan was also tracking 50 million.

And then people will say it's because Wolverine wasn't in it.

Ehh you think this movie gonna be the same quality and have that kinda word of Mouth? It's possible I guess but based on the trailers I'm not expecting it at all.

Logan also had almost across the board fantastic word of mouth and trailers that got people excited. Phoenix has none of that so far.

Even if it did Logan numbers that is not good.

Logan made 619 million on 127 million budget which is the estimated high figure. That's not amazing but a nice profit.

Dark Phoenix has a 200 million dollar budget and modern day rule is add another 100 million to any blockbuster for marketing. Also Studios usually get about a little more than half of the box office back as their take getting about 65 to 70% in the U.S. and less internationally depending on the country. So if DP does Logan numbers it would break even and perhaps make a little profit.

So for a film like DP tracking the same as Logan which as mentioned had way better word of mouth and fan reaction isn't a good thing.

That projection was made after the films and embargo left.

Fans only range in the thousands based on comic sales. People who watch the movies are in the millions.

And that tracking is only for North America.

I'll personally be impressed if this doesn't end up on the 2019 box office busts thread.

I wouldn’t since it’s the Queen in The North as the star of an action packed Marvel movie, but we will found out soon enough.

Yeah that's the same feeling I got. I just don't understand how they made a concept like Phoenix feel so trite and cliche when it's something we've never seen on screen before.

Actually, this concept has been around for decades. The Exorcist easily comes to mind and recently Venom.

Oh and lets not forget Spider-Man 3 of course. An alien entity makes the hero stronger but also negatively effects the hero’s behavior. Yeah, the concept of the Phoenix is definitely not new territory.

I wish, atleast that leaves a real impression for better or worse lol.

Oy side note I thought Toby was just a horrible Peter Parker. Good actor in other stuff but miscast. He comes off as Creepy and possible on the spectrum in that scene.
