Almost completely off-topic, but back when Amalgam happened, I thought it would have been cool to merge 20th century Marvel with 30th century DC:

Sworn to protect a solar system that hates and fears them, they are... Phoenix Boy and the Legion of Mutant-Heroes!

RJ Brande + Professor X = Professor Charles Brande, team sponsor and founder. I don't remember if he had superpowers in my version, or was just a civilian sponsor type character.

And yes, I was intentionally sticking with the X-Men from the Marvel side, and avoiding their non-mutant characters. But I was also intentionally ignoring continuity, so I wasn't sticking to the "current" members of either team, and I pulled from all X-Men and LSH continuities. I had more character ideas, and even a story idea for an origin story arc, but it's been a while since I've given it much thought, so I don't remember all the characters.

If anyone cares, I could write a rough synopsis of what I remember of the story. The origin story really proves why I'm not creative enough to be a professional writer. It's just a straight rip-off of the source material, on the Legion side, though I don't know Marvel well enough to have ripped off their stuff.

Captain Acceleration aka Jay Rogers (Jay Garrick + Captain America) - During World War 2 scientist Jay Rogers volunteers for a project that will increase the speed of machines but is caught in an explosion which gives him the power of super speed and becomes the hero Captain Acceleration. During a big mission Jay uses his powers to full force and accidentally winds up in the modern day.

Wanda the Wonder Witch (Scarlet Witch + Wonder Woman) - A witch, from a secluded coven in the middle of a magical forest, finds out that there are threats outside the forest attacking mortals and wants to help defend them.

Green Spider aka Peter Jordan (Spider-Man + Hal Jordan) - A teenager is chosen by a spider ring that connects him to the great cosmic web

Captain Ocean aka Orin Vell (Aquaman + Captain Marvel) - An alien comes to Earth to look for a new home for his water-based people since their home has very little water left.
