There was no recognizing or mentioning that King Shark was a member of the Suicide Squad at the start of the New 52 when they ran into each other in Atlantis. Is that a bit of retcon that Rebirth removed?

I feel like we've seen 2-3 different versions of King Shark running around the DCU since the New 52.
It's hard to keep straight exactly what he is at this point .
There was kind of a reference when King Shark reacts to Waller's involvement in all of this but aside from that, I feel like his inclusion in the crossover was a wasted opportunity.
And is a shame because I've always felt that he fitted much better in the Suicide Squad than, let's say, Killer Croc.
BZZZ! WRONG!
King Shark is clearly shown muttering "Waller" to himself when he learns of the Squad's involvement. Look at 5:05.

That's a mistake. He's great in "Aquaman."Originally Posted by HandofPrometheus
I suppose I was more referring to the fact no one from the Squad acknowledges KS being a former Squad member.
