    Default NBA 2018-2019 Season thread

    BASKETBALL IS BACK!

Who's hyped for the new season that tips off tonight?

Predictions for the Best Record? League MVP? Defensive Player of the Year? Rookie of the Year? Coach of the Year? Who makes the All-NBA squad?

How's YOUR team (realistically) going to do this year?

    To the Hoop!

    My take:

    Best Record: Boston Celtics
    League MVP: LeBron James
Defensive Player of the Year: Draymond Green
Rookie of the Year: Dallas' Luka Doncic
    All-NBA 1st Team: Kyrie Irving/Klay Thompson/Kawhi Leonard/LeBron James/Anthony Davis

My Detroit Pistons? Presuming relative good health for all key players, hovering at just over .500, 7th or 8th seed in the Eastern Conference.

Nice to see my Sixers have picked up right where they left off last season, turning the ball over like it’s a live grenade as they’re losing to Boston 47-42 at the half.

Anyone who thinks there's been a renewed rivalry between Philly and Boston were promptly cured of that foolish notion after my Sixers were bitchslapped by the Celts 105-87 last night. In fact, the Sixers are all of 2-8 against Boston since last season with Jayson Tatum whomping them real good.

Of all the familiar faces in unfamiliar jerseys this new season, the one I'm most curious about is this guy:

and not just because of his newly-discovered unforgettably inhuman laugh. Seriously, look up "Kawhi Leonard laugh" and turn the audio up. It's ... unsettling.

More seriously, is Kawhi just a one-year rental on his way to the Lakers/Clippers next summer?

Or can Toronto pull an OKC and convince him to stay?

Either way, will be fascinating to watch him this season.

I think my Trail Blazers are better than people give them credit for. They're going to sneak up on the league this year. Finishing third in the West last year was not a fluke.

It was weirdly funny but I can see Leonard being a 1-yr rental.

Didn't he get a PUMA shoe deal?

PUMA has hinted at it but I don't think it's done yet.

I think the Houston Rockets will regret signing Carmelo Anthony as they likely do not make the Western conference finals this upcoming postseason.
