Unless X-Men Red happened after X-Men gold 36 which is impossible because Gambit is there instead of honeymooning somewhere.

Blame Marvel for having different writers on different series. Editors don't even bother to edit consistencies.

This never happened when CC was writing most of the X-titles.

I feel like everyone feels that way about most things across the board. The idea of a shared sandbox is completely lost at Marvel. What happens here doesn't get referenced here when it should. But overall Rachel has shown to be more attached to the idea of Jean as the mother she always wanted and lost as a young child, whereas Jean has been indifferent to Rachel for most of their shared panel space til recently.
