Default The Thing (John Carpenter Horror) infects the following...

    Wolverine
    Deadpool
    Species 8472 (Star Trek)
    Hulk
    Doomsday

Can the Thing succeed in assimilating them? Or will the healing factors of each destroy it?

Species 8472 would be interesting in that they're one of the very few Trek races where they go in depth about their cellular mechanisms.

Though, it should be said that the Thing's rate of infection, though similar, was wayyy more aggressive, brutal, and horrific.

But God help us if there's a Thing/8472 hybrid. 8472 doesn't need oxygen, atmosphere, or gravity to survive, so they seem more durable and resilient than the Thing at more advanced levels. They even have a degree of telepathy. Seeing as how the Thing augments the physical stats of the beings it assimilates, if it takes over even just one 8472, it would spell a lot of trouble.

A weakened Hulk's healing factor was able to stalemate the Spikes on planet Sakaar. (They were able to infest him but not gain control.)

Back at full power he was able to feed the entire species from sun down to sunrise (Though doing this changed him back to Banner for a second.)

Add on the adaptive nature, and the sheer amount of radiation anything trying to assimilate him would be exposed too. (In their natural state Spikes fed on the radiation of dying stars.) I don't think the Thing is up for it.

Those things might be related. Weeds grow faster than pine-trees, which grow faster than hardwood trees. 8472 might simply be too complex an organism to spread as the rate of the thing.

Yeah, Hulk is a safe bet for immunity. He also had that "immune system is eating adamantiun nanobots" thing a while back.

    You're talking about Tony's S.P.I.N nanobots?

Im honestly not certain as to the exact context. It was during his Prof Hulk stint.

The other time he overcame nanobots was during WWH but if you read the tie in comics, they bots were sabatoged prior to being fired at him. Were those the S.P.I.N.'s?
