Keep your word. Do unto others. Strive for greatness. Never give up, never say die. And know a lot about the Legion of Superheroes.

First, respect yourself. Then ask yourself why you feel you are not respected. Respect is earned.

Also respect is given for different reasons. There are many people who respect Donald Trump, I don't see any reason to respect him and i lose my respect for anyone who does.

Pick something that serves others that you feel is important, no matter how small. Do it as well as you are able. Stay on task with it, especially when it gets hard.

Keep in mind, some people won't think what you're doing is as important as you do, and may even mock it. Don't let that sway you.

Most of all, don't confuse "respect" with "adulation" or "fear." Too many that say they want the first, actually crave at least one of the other two.

Like others have said respect yourself first. Don't smile too much or be overly familiar with people-realize some people will never respect or accept you no matter what you do.

Personally I respect anyone until they give me a reason to not respect them.

Keep your filthy religion to yourself is a good start.

But that implies ALL beliefs, even atheism, are "filthy"?

I'd rather not get caught up in another "science/athiesm is a religion" debate so I'm not going to respond if that winds up happening, but the lack of a belief isn't a belief system nor is it organized. Agnostics are different as even if they aren't sure what's out there they believe that something is, but Atheism isn't a religion by definition.

To answer the thread: Care for others, stand up for yourself, keep your word, show respect to those who haven't proven unworthy, and maintain your principles.

It implies all religions are filthy, not atheism.

    By giving them respect. DUH!

Or by treating them as people with the same hopes, dreams, fears, and aspirations as you have. Okay, that sounded a bit cliche of me.
