    Default Black Panther Halloween costume

Not sure if it's been asked yet, but do you guys think it is okay for a white kid/guy to dress up as Black Panther? I dont mean putting on black face or anything like that, I'm just talking about the clothes and helmet he wears when he is being the Black Panther. Or would that be viewed as something along the lines of a form of cultural appropriation by some?

I don't see anything wrong with it for children but I am white. I have some biracial nephews and they are big BP fans and I think a child should choose whatever they like.

Since I don't normally think of Black Panther having any skin showing when he's in costume, I don't think it will be an issue. Besides, the character was created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee back in the day, so how can you get accused of "cultural misappropriation"?

Now, going as just T'Challa without the Panther outfit might be a different story.

No problem from my end. In fact, I don't understand why anybody would have a problem with it.

Depending on where you live or you can go to Target's website and look at this week's ad.

You do see a white kid dressed as Panther.

In fact I have see it done a few times for stores including Wal-Mart.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

We have had white kids dressed as Miles Morales and Static.

SOMEWHERE on Tumblr there is a white kid dressed as Static and he won a Halloween contest.

Kids tend to get a pass over adults for things like this.

I guess the major issue would be if done with blackface.

But we did just have a kid dressed as Hitler all over the news ...

Black Panther is not part of the Black culture, he was created by two Jewish guys.
But I think we should hear from black members here.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

As long as he isn't wearing black face go for it. White kids SHOULD want to dress as Black Panther. He's dope AF.
