Wanted to do something for the kids. It's a simple Halloween story about Lockheed wanting to go trick or treating, but needing an anthropomorphic costume so that the other trick or treaters wouldn't be too alarmed. As he looks in every closet and every chest around the mansion to no avail, and growing more frustrated by the minute, enter an age-old demon named Müther Blüd. The look is gothic, extravagant horns, pearly white teeth, etc. The demon's sudden appearance startles Lockheed, who looks the demon up and down twice before snorting a plume of smoke. No side eye will ever top a dragon's side eye. Nevertheless, Müther Blüd approaches like they were lifelong friends. It introduces itself to Lockheed as Halloween's Fairy Godmother, only appearing on this special day to help children in dire need. Naturally, Müther has sinister motives, as most demons do.

Anyway, after earning Lockheed's attention, if not entirely his trust, Müther points Lockheed in the direction of a hidden lair built by none other than the Dark Beast. Within the deathly cold chamber, Dark Beast has a number of heinous experiments in process, including a Frankensteinian reconstruction of a symbiote suit. It's really a patchwork quilt of Klyntar parts, but Lockheed could care less. All he sees is a Spider-Man costume that would be perfect to wear as evinced by the thought bubble above his head.

As he gleefully approaches the patchwork Klyntar, the head trembles and slowly moves. It's alive! Looking very much the worn rag doll confined to a medieval play pen, the suit weakly reaches out to Lockheed for help. Empathizing with the patchwork symbiote's plight, Lockheed tries to melt the cage to no avail. Then he runs off panel and returns with first a wire cutter and then a crowbar. Still, no luck. Finally, Müther Blüd hands Lockheed its cane, the all-powerful Veil Breaker staff, telling him that no barrier or constriction can ever bar its way. Hesitant, but desperate to free his newfound friend -- let's just call him, Patchwork, shall we? -- Lockheed swings the eldritch staff, and sure enough, the cage collapses!

Alas, if only the story ended there. And if only Lockheed knew what we all know about dealing with the daemonic types, fairy godmother or not: For every nanosecond of pleasure comes an eternity of pain. Tsk, tsk. Lockheed is going to learn the hard way.

In taking so wide a swing with Veil Breaker, Lockheed accidentally trips a crude toggle switch, which activates Dark Beast's device. As Lockheed and Patchwork leap into each other's arms, completely oblivious, Dark Beast's cloning ray fires, striking them both. Had Lockheed and Patchwork not been so blinded by sheer exultation, they would have noticed an eerie, viscous substance congealing in a separate containment cell just a few short meters away from where they stood. Müther Blüd snickers to itself quietly through a toothy grill. Picking up Veil Breaker from where Lockheed had dropped it, Müther throws its arms around Lockheed and Patchwork, telling them to go quickly and enjoy the Halloween revelries. For the night will not last. The two quickly scurry from sight.

Müther turns its attention back to the now fully formed monstrosity. Part Klyntar. Part dragon. "Es war mörderisch!" Müther Blüd repeats the daemonic incantation with a blood-curdling pitch. "I shall call you Maz-Myrd'r the Doombringer." And the night screams!

Suffice to say, I have some idea of what Müther Blüd, Patchwork Symbiote, Maz-Myrd'r and, of course, Lockheed as Symbiote Spider Man look like. One of these days I'll commit that to paper.
