Default Would you consider Venom to be Bizarro Spider-Man?

I mean in terms of the bad doppleganger theme to a main hero in their own comic universe.

In those terms? Yes, I think it would be fair to say that.

Speaking of, the TV adaptation of the second Reverse-Flash (Zoom) was explicitly inspired by Venom, at least according to the guys who were working on the show, so there is that.

Little yes and little no. To me 616 'Venom symbiote' (never learned it's true name if it has one) is a in the same vein as a baby that just didn't know better his surroundings and why people and Peter reacted to it. With Flash it was raised better to help it understand and has shown a level of thought and consciousness that learns and better in time provided on the host. Eddie was really the danger and evil to Peter and MJ and the crazy one that infected the symbiote. Eddie made the design to be a bad copy twisted copy to mock Spider-man.

The symbiote mold and design on each host is based on what the host feel, believe, desires and wants to express (though there are some symbites that might have some influence to the design or equal partnership in design or one sided with host master and symbite slave or other depending on many factors). Eddie hated and was crazy against Spider-man while lifting weights thus the form they took showcases that from Eddie's mental and views state). The symbiote does have the side effect of enhancing emotions by default (which Eddie already crazy emtions just boosted when the two bonded). Peter when it found and had the symbiote thought it was just a costume so Venom took that to look like a smooth costume as that what the host believed/desired. Flash was in the army but also Spider-man fan so he has a army based yet Spider hero appearance that lacks the twisted art style of Eddie. He also went to space and looked like a Space Knight.

The symbiote many don't think about this be it was also an Avenger and a Guardian of the Galaxy by default when with Flash.

Overall just covering the 616 symbiotes and Venom symbiote have a few things and differences depending on many factors.

Many tv shows have it that peter bangs the bell and rips off the symbiote. In the comics Peter failed but the symbite saved him (then found Eddie which took his growing development into a bad area). The symbiote before Peter was shown being both hero and corrupted based on circumstances and hosts (till his corruption altered again as well to a positive morel area where he wanted to work with the host in a partnership and he was outcasted for it from the other corrupted symbites).

The symbioties and particularly the Venom symbiote is a emotional and learning alien being that is not black or white but grey like humans and can be affected like a child learning by it's hosts/parents and the world itself. One symbiote looked like a human man and lived on this planet secretly as a Shield Agent and lived as hidden a human since Vietnam. Thus the powers, skills, and mental abilities can also be different from each other.
(Till it/he and even the consciousness/id,ego,superego of the Venom Symbiote died recently fighting the symbiote Devil).

The bad doppelganger lies with Eddie (Eddie himself has developed but still the clash between him and Peter is still strong) that in turn infected and was a bad parent due to his mental state for the symbite yet accepted and cared for it more so than Peter did. Flash was the best host as a Parent/healthy friend and partner the symbiote has had on 616 Earth.

If Venom symbiote in the past was able to have a beautiful smooth humanoid form it could of formed, understood somehow instantly without the long term need of the host (like Starfire kissing giving her perfect language and better understanding) culture and it's environment and ongoings better, and communicate by speaking words beyond the mental link messages which even for it took some time for it to learn between host and others the way it would of been viewed by others would of been different.
Image if the Kryptonians (Superman series) didn't have a human appearance but was more alien biomass like the Kyntars are yet the rest the same. Kal-el sent as a baby on a pod/asteroid to earth to save him.

That's actually a very good point, AngelJD, and actually brings Venom closer to being Bizarro Spider-Man, in that like Bizarro from Superman, the symbiote ultimately doesn't truly mean harm, at least at first, but its lack of understanding and ability when it comes to navigating human mores and social norms results in it taking actions that are (perceived as) dangerous, frightening, or even repellent to the very people that it seeks to protect and/or befriend.

the way venom is constantly moving to new status quos no doubt venom will end up ruling the symbiote imperium at some point like BP. the closer equivalent to venom in DC is black beetle with his alien armour but of course he came later and may actually be inspired by venom.

In appearance, yes. I mean, Venom looks like an evil muscular Spider-Man with and Aliens inspired mouth. He also goes web-slinging around the city is questionably as acrobatic, and cancels out Spider-Man's Spider Sense. I know nowadays Venom (or at least the symbiote) has gone beyond Spider-Man, but originally, he was basically the evil Spider-Man.

I wouldn't consider Venom to be Bizarro Spider-man.

I'd consider Venom to be Evil Spider-man and Bizarro to be Evil Superman.

Well, after the appearance of the original Bizarro, ther came a lot of the other Bizarros and a planet full of Bizarros. And then an universe of Bizarros. And Bizarro Batman and Bizarro Wonder woman and Bizarro Flash and so and so.

After the appearance of Venom, there came Carnage and the other symbiots: Carnage, Mania, and the others.

And the anti-Venom. And the Venom-verse. And the Poisons.

I would said than there are some similarities but nothing conclusive.
