Default The Most Horrific Alien Menace In The MCU?

Over the years, Marvel has dropped some right repulsive visitors on their denizens out of the sky. So I ask, not the most published, not the most famous, not the most powerful...

Which was the most gruesome, the most repugnant, the most viscerally menacing of all the aliens Marvel threw at Their Earth?

PS: Purely Divine/Demonic/Mystical Entities don't count. This is for creatures that are predominantly Space Aliens.

I think only the Tree and Skulls (soon to appear) are in the MCU.

Unless I missed some Agents of Shield or Inhumans episodes I don't think the other races are in the MCU

I assume op meant the MU. Fun autocorrect with Kree there. Thought you meant Groot for a second.

IMO, the Brood have to take this one. They are simply horrifying on so many levels...

I would say the Celestials, but one could probably beat one these days with a slingshot, a stick of gum, and a pillow pet.

Otherwise I'm going with the Skrulls. While there is worse out there, there is something really uncomfortable about a shapeshifter and especially with what one can do with powers like that. Then factor in them in some cases assuming memories and powers of the copied individual and yeah, that's really scary.

My first thought was Galactus. Second the Annihilation wave. No conquering.... no enslaving... just destruction leaving behind not even a memory of your existence...

The brood are the most underrated vilains of the Marvel universe. Parasitic insectoids who lay eggs on the host, before killing him and taking control of his body ? They were the only Marvel villains who scarred me, when I was a child.

For me, "Horrific" goes right to The Technarcy.

For me, the Dire Wraith have always been the most horrifying.

Like the Skrull, they can shapeshift...but into beings they have devoured.
Like the Brood, they devour a person before taking their place...but rather than an internal infection transforming the host, the Wraith stalks it's prey, drives them mad, and then feeds on their SOUL while their prey still lives, aware they are being devoured.

Add to that their nature as a mystical AND a cosmic threat, and they are as close to Lovecraftian as it gets. Suma Gorath is just a tentacled monster. The Dire Wraith are ineffably diabolical, inhuman and malicious in a way few others are.

Dire Wraiths. There's just something so disturbing about the way they agonizingly drill into your skull, eat your brains, dissolve you, and steal your identity.

I still get a chill looking at those images, and I am an incredibly jaded old horror fan in most respects.

Of the choices on the poll, Dire Wraiths, for sure.

Dishonorable mention to the Warwolves and N'Garai.
