Agreed. Daredevil's Born Again was Miller & Mazzucchelli at their best. And probably Captain America's best depiction ever.

Namor at the sight of Sue or Emma Frost turns into a thirsty, horny hound-dog right in front of Reed or Scott's face. Namor is forever out of fucks to give. Therefore, Namor owns!
Any of the Ant-Mans actually. I know about people's contempt for Hank, but the Ant-Man idea, generally.

Namor can be a badarse, but ticks me off whenever he switches sides and seems to be leaning towards the villain side. Oh, and Aquaman beat Namor in DC Vs Marvel in the mid 90's and even I admit I was surprised by that outcome. Aquaman was pretty much evolving and that was after he lost his left hand.

    DC:

Hawkman - outside of the excellent and largely forgotten HAWKWORLD series of the 1990s, 0 interest in this convoluted hero.

Shazam! - there is something ick about a kid who turns into an adult with the mind of a kid. Also, makes issues of consent too difficult and/or creepy with it comes to stuff like romance.

Booster Gold - I wish this character would go away and never come back and no, I don't have a good reason why. He sucks.

Harley Quinn - just, no. You are a gleeful murderer several times over, not a symbol of female empowerment. Every time I see Harley on a cover, I'm reminded that Vixen is still unused.

    Marvel:

Storm - as long as she is associated with, and continuing to ruin, Black Panther, she's out. Once that "romance" is done for good, then we'll talk.

Namor - great villain, terrible hero, overall jerk. His speedos are laughable. And he's about to be surpassed in pop culture by his biggest copycat.

Sentry - any inktime this doofus gets should be going to Blue Marvel, who seems way, way, more interesting. Also, if you have to be inspired by SUPERMAN IV's Nuclear Man, you suck.

Nathaniel Richards - ugh, super OP and a wunkerkind to boot. It'd be way more interesting if Reed and Sue produced completely average non-powered kids, IMHO.

    Others:

Doctor Who - just don't get the appeal of the entire franchise. Which is weird, because I get into both Star Trek and Star Wars really easily.

Ghostbusters w/o the classic cast - no thanks. Saw the reboot: it flat-out sucked on its own terms even without the external misogyny thrown at it.

The Wheel of Time - read the first book, stopped midway through the 2nd, didn't bother to read any of the following books. "Over-descriptive", thy name is Robert Jordan.

Warhammer 40K - a long-running franchise without a single female character of note? I'm out. Plus it just seems much too pointlessly violent.

Just the series in general. I tried to get into it, but no such luck. I'm picky.

I keep forgetting that Namor came first. Aquaman may have started as a copycat, but he's since past that by many decades.

Sentry threw Carnage in space and ripped him in halves, that's enough for me to never dislike the character. And the way he was used as a friend of the Hulk adds to my liking of the character.

Probably the most "controversial" choice for me here would be Hulk. I have never cared much for the character, as he is extremely one-note, and they just keep playing that note over and over. The only writer who I ever felt like "got" Hulk and made him work was Peter David, and even his run really got tedious after issue 400 or so. I liked Planet Hulk as a story, but that's a blip on the non-David radar.

Aside from Hulk... I have never cared about Wonder Woman aside from Gal Gadot's portrayal of her.

Hahaha! Finally someone that has the same opinion as me. I never got the draw that most of my friends had for the series. I gave up shortly after the book when they did the part were the one house broke the guest rite ritual and slaughtered everyone at the wedding party. I personally find GoT to be lazy writing, not genre breaking or subversive. It's hard to invest yourself in characters when everyone is going to die anyway. The needless vulgarity and shocking twists became gimmicks instead of hooks by Book 2. It didn't feel earned but I understand why some people enjoy that.

And the massive character deaths and shocking twists gimmicks of the books translated into the "**** and dragon show" for TV. Another gimmick.

I'm sure I will be drawn, quartered, and burned for all that.

I think because I've read so much Japanese fantasy and mythology in my life, GoT came off as weak to me.

Well, since Comixology had a sale on the Miller Run of Daredevil including Born Again, I've decided to cave under the peer-pressure and bought the whole damned thing.
So far I can't say that I'm disapointed. It really is a pretty good read. So thanks for the suggestions folks.

Crossed. Supposedly this brilliant survivor horror series from the mind of Garth Ennish with a shared world for other writers to contribute to, it's really just a nasty 'fast zombie' torture porn series. I noped out in the second issue (Guy and his wife get raped to death while his daughter is hacked apart with a hatchet), tried out the spinoffs (a bunch of random nasty cruelty), Just can't get into it. It's all just a bunch of bullshit from a bunch of U.K. writers who should be better than this material.

The star wars extended universe. It was okay when it was just Timothy Zahn's awesome Thrawn trilogy. Then it turned into a bloated wasteland of horrible, circular stories where there's always a galaxy threatening super weapon, a hidden faction of the empire, or one of Luke's shitty former Jedi apprentices just waiting for an opportunity to wreck up the joint. This is how I know I'm debating an idiot when I say the Last Jedi was a good movie: He'll play the card that Luke was a much better teacher in the old EU, and a better hero, not some old burnout. Well, let's get this straight: In the old EU Luke had four separate apprentices turn to the Dark Side and kill millions of people. EU Luke is the frickin' antichrist. Yeesh.

The Chronicles of Narnia. It completely lost me with the last book. Why didn't Susan get to go to Paradise? Why was she being punished for being a girl and liking "girl stuff?" Jesus, Aslan, you're gonna let her live on by herself with the knowledge that all her brothers and sisters are fucking dead with no hope of ever seeing her again, because she suddenly doesn't meet your arbitrary standards? Ass.

The Venture Brothers. Oh, wow, this show's creators watched the same stuff I did, when I was a kid! Awesome! Wait, that's the ENTIRE joke? Huh.

The Legend of Korra. Last Airbender was better, get over it. Not even the season with Zaheer makes up for how bad this show got. How many times did we have to see Korra overcome mental anguish to rise from the ashes, only to get beat back down again worst then ever? Korra sucked. Lame role model, lame Avatar, lame sequel to TLA. Her suffering was so fetishistic, that it's as icky as reading an 80's Chris Claremont comic. Speaking of which:

Everything Chris Claremont has ever written. Dude's a skeevy perv with a leather fetish whose tastes skew young. Colossus and Kitty's entire relationship is a disturbing endorsement of wife husbandry. I'm really sick of people trashing Joss Whedon while upholding Claremont as the uber-example of how a man should write women. Write them as what? Mentally disturbed bondage dolls who have to constantly overthrow their kinky oppressors with panel's denoting extreme close-ups of their sweating faces, gritted teeth, and orgasmic expressions as they exaltantly turn the tables on their enemies by being waaaaay freakier than them? Seriously, read Claremont's comics, the guy never created a woman character that he couldn't find a way to stick a dog collar on.

While Korra's quality is debatable, I don't think she was any worse an Avatar than Aang (hell she actually undoes the damage of one of his mistakes) or suffered any worse than Zuko or Aang. The worst it got was season 4 and even then it wasn't by that much.

His work on Iron Fist and Luke Cage is fine and dandy, and his run on Marvel Team-Up is solid.. when he doesn't make Spider-Man faint almost every issue.

I hate the Phoenix stuff, I hate the weird disjointed connection that came out of nowhere between the X-Men and alien race (Shi'ar), I hate that awkward love between Chuck and the outlaw princess that came out of nowhere, I hate that Lilandra's brother came from a distant galaxy all the way to Earth just to kidnap and try to rape Cyclops's mom. I also agree about hating that old Piotr fell in mutual love with a 13 years old Kitty Pryde.
