Too much of one Marvel writer?

I need some advice from you comic veterans.

I currently am pulling Venom and Cosmic Ghost Rider from Donny Cates and I really enjoy them. I also read his Thanos run and liked it, and I thought the first two issues of Death of the Inhumans were really interesting (even though I know nothing about the Inhumans) although I never pulled the rest of the issues.

I am also going to pull the Guardians of the Galaxy run in January.

My question is whether any of you guys ever got burnt out by reading too much from one writer, because I am thinking about getting Marvel Knights too.

My only other on-going pull is Immortal Hulk. Has anyone else been in a similar situation, or do guys usually have pretty diverse pull lists?

No way! If you have found someone you enjoy, then enjoy their work! There is nothing wrong with that at all. I am also digging Cates right now.

I've never gotten burned out on a particular creator, no. There are more than a few creators I follow closely, but they don't regularly produce enough work for me to get sick of. As for Donny Cates, he definitely writes a lot of books. One might get tired of that, but if you're enjoying it don't worry.

This never happened to me. Probably because with most of the books I read at least two of them might share the same writer.

Surely the natural antidote to this is to read other writers? But IMO, the most satisfying way of reading comics is to identify a writer you like and follow them from book to book.

It depends for me. There are writers that I'll at least TRY any super hero comic they write. But it's tough with super heroes, because the writers are not writing their own creations for the most part, and they need to find the right voices for those characters. Then there are writers, like Remender and Hickman, who I'll read any independent/creator owned book from just because I enjoy their style and previous work so much.

Anyone would think ‘voice’ was the key to character. It isn’t. What you are describing is your own cognitive dissonance if the character you have in your head doesn’t match the character on the page. That’s entirely personal and subjective.

If Tony Stark started talking and acting like Steve Rogers and Steve started talking and acting like Tony, that's not my cognitive dissonance, its characters being written ooc.
