Default How long before all media becomes completely unreliable?

Between technology like Deep fake, and photo realistic CG (see below) it seems more and more likely that the future is going to a place where even the most convincing images you see could be manipulated. We aren't there yet, but we aren't far away in my opinion.

Video evidence is going to become completely unreliable - maybe already has. For a good few years though, I imagine we'll have a cat and mouse game of people developing software which can detect fake videos - and then then fake videos getting too good - and back and forth until they can produce flawless videos.

That won't make all media unreliable. It will just mean that people need to continue (as before) being a bit discerning about which media they trust.

How much does it cost? Everyone said CGI will be dirt cheap and around 50000 people will be making their own blockbyusters by now on their own in the early 2000s.
