    Default CATWOMAN #3 Outsells Thor, Captain America, Detective Comics, others in August

    CATWOMAN #3 ranked #24 on Preview's Top 100 Comics of September 2018. Sales are pretty stable, it seems. A few major new comics debuted that month, including the return of Wolverine. Kudos to Joelle Jones for her hard work writing and illustrating CATWOMAN!

    Selina always sells. Despite her New 52 book fluctuating in quality, it was still one of just a handful of titles that survived till the end. So a Rebirth relaunch with an interesting hook and rising star writer/artist was bound to have strong sales.

    Still a pretty impressive feat considering she doesn't quite get the same level of push as a certain clown lady.

    It seems that the bat has imparted the power to sell comics and carry a series to almost all of his characters. but seriously it's nice to hear that the negative publicity to Batman 50 didn't affect Selina's title.

    Couldn't care less. Her comic still sucks.

    Bring her back to Batman and give us what we want.

    You mean a new writer on Batman to replace Tom King?

    Not my cup of tea but to each his or her own. I think the publicity from Batman 50 likely boosted sales. As has been said, no attention is bad attention.

    Its not a bad read. And, its nice to at least see the ramifications from prior actually mean something. Like her reluctantly leaving Bruce at the alter is tearing her up inside.

    Charming. Because how can we praise one character without throwing a dig at another.

    Harley' insane fame came before DC started putting her n lots of things. Selina's 2 year role in batman ad all the hype and TV that came with her wedding is more hype than any Harley title has had.

    Glad Selina is selling well.

    By the way, here's the numbers (from Diamond's Top 300 Comic Books lists) so far:
    * Sept. 2018 = 24th - Catwoman #3 - 55,068 copies
    * Aug. 2018 = 15th - Catwoman #2 - 64,721 copies
    * July 2018 = 6th - Catwoman #1 - 121,056 copies

    I'm guessing numbers for October 2018 (issue #4) will probably be available in the next week or two.

    Amazing what some new paint, build up, and a decent creative team can do.

    Yeah sure... Selina's role in Batman and a Fox show where she's just a teenager created more hype than the combination of having a controversial artist contest to kickstart Harley's New 52 solo, being called the "Fourth Pillar of DC", being plastered over multiple events like Justice League vs. Suicide Squad and Heroes in Crisis, prominence in "hot and happening" Elseworld titles like Batman: White Knight, the star of a major blockbuster played by a rising Hollywood actress, being attached to multiple cinematic spin-offs, co-starring in her own animated movie, soon to have her own animated series etc.

    Okay, how about Gotham by Gaslight, Batman Ninja, the upcoming Hush, the Telltale games and so on. Catwoman is hardly hurting for attention so I have no idea how this became a big Harley vs Catwoman debate. Ask some Blue Beetle fan and they'll tell you that both of these characters are overexposed and overhyped, just saying. Catwoman is one of those lucky few DC characters that the company continously pushes.

    Still, selling over 50k is pretty solid for a comic in the direct market. I didn't know it was doing that well but not surprising. It's the first time ive really made an effort to read catwoman since like 2003.

    It did well because of Artgerm's variants which were pretty great.

    Let's see how well she will do after he leave which is soon.

    Also need to see how well it does with any future story arcs in case some people decide to drop it after the initial one is finished.
