    Default Cthulhu rises in ...

I'm currently reading the Laundry series by Stross. The Laundry is a British secret agency that combats supernatural events and is concerned with a total invasion by extradimensional critters such as Cthulhu. Currently, they are in trouble as the UK Government has been taken over by an avatar of Nyarlathotep. The USA government is in a conflict as it is being fought over by those trying to awaken Cthulhu. Good books.

Anyway, my rumble is that this happens in various universes. Nyarlathotep takes over the UK government and Chtulhu almost has the the USA. This is discovered by the heroes of :

    1. Potterverse
    2. DC comic Universe
    3. Marvel comic Universe
    4. The movie variants of 2 and 3

What happens? In 3 - you can't bring in off Earth Cosmics to save the death. No Galactus arriving to fight with a deal with Reed. Places in touch with Earth - like Asgard (whatever it's current state is ) is ok.

What would Cthulhu see when he comes across a Boggart? A theory:

Honestly the real world stand a pretty good chance against Cthulhu with traditional weaponry, so worlds with either superheroes or wizards in the mix? Yeah, no problem. Of course this is original Cthulhu, as Lovecraft wrote him in his story, who got taken out by a ship (didn't kill him, but he went back to sleep so...). Laundry Cthulhu might have better feats, I wouldn't know.

The main reason Cthulhu did what he did in story was the stars were right, for a brief moment hence waking up as a scary mofo but then sleep.

If counting the other stuff which is post Lovecradtvthoufh. He is a high priest of Azarhith. Which translates him as a D/D cleric who has access to scaled up atomic energy blasts, and causing insanity just by existing ( As in the first true story, Cthulhu’s presence is a world wide thing that triggers certain minds at times to crank up the insanity.)
