This is also only the first trailer. So the "money shot" as you call it is Pikachu with Charizard, another exceptionally popular Pokémon.

It was a standard charizard with realistic looking scales and looking scarier than normal.

I believe that a Deviantart member is actually working on the movie, but he also had a day job in Hollywood anyway.

Now, of course he's had to tone down his designs to be more familiar/true to the source material, but for the most part, the trailer shows a nice union between fantasy and "reality."

I did with Mr. Mime. The Pokemon is already unsettling but the Uncanny Valley takes it up a notch.
