They held off the Persians by themselves.

I imagine they beat the Persians pretty handedly with some back up

As long as someone has the idea to go ahead and let the deformed hunchback fight in battle (and die quickly) then they are good right lol?

    So basically turn off PIS

How exactly do they 'go to war' with Sauron? Are the armies of Sauron attacking at Thermopylae? Because a big part of the Spartans' success against Persia was geography.

Either way everything falls apart once the Witch King shows up.

Composite film Hercules might be able to do this himself. Is this only live-action films, I hope?

Otherwise Disney Hercules tosses multi-ton boulders at the Persians till they're be all dead.

The Spartans sit it out while their backup steamrolls the Persians.

If the group fights Sauron, they also win. Sauron was beaten by a normal guy with a sword; Achilles can easily replicate the feat.

There were actually around 1,400 there. Not just the Spartans. Unless this is the film Spartans, in which case, yes.
Yeah, but if you... man, we're getting into weird analogy territory, like if you disintegrated Superman's arms he wouldn't be able to go "fool! Little did you know that my arms and I are one and can be remade from me!" and will his arms back into being from pure nothingness. - Pendaran

There are a vast number of films featuring Hercules, particularly from Italy. Some of them appear to be totally insane. Composite Hercules, even if you exclude the Disney films, or the Sorbo made for TV films, has some spectacularly unlikely and weirdly surreal achievements.

I believe Guy Ritchie King Arthur has some magical Excalibur induced super speed ultra violence thing going on, right?

Aragorn and the Fellowship (with or without Gandalf?) has Legolas and all his absurd gravity defying archery from the egregious Hobbit films.

If you believe Herodotus, which you shouldn’t, the Persians had a million troops. If you believe modern scholars, over 100,000. If you watch the film, Xerxes was 9 feet tall and the Immortals were made up of orcs led by one of the Uruk-hai. In any event, it won’t be enough.

They had some help. A few hundred to a thousand others. Some of whom gave up.

Anyway none of the individuals cited would help that much in the final outcome without significant superpowers.

Against all of Sauron's forces - it's a Sauron stomp.

The Spartans didn't do it by themselves, as has already been noted. Also they didn't do much except manage to delay the Persians

And then they took their help to conquer Athens lmao. So much for "freedom" (more helots /slaves fought at Thermopylae than actual Spartans). You've got to love the Greek myth. Herodotus certainly was the "Father of propaganda" if nothing else

Anyway I think its at least a close run thing with all of these heroes. Like even going by a rough estimate of 40 Persians being taken out for every hero (Legolas/ Gimli contest) and modern sources putting the numbers close to 100,000; there's a decent chance that even the non "superpowered" versions of these characters, who are generally all exceptional warriors, could be enough

Not really sure which part you're referring to but in movie feats points to Achilles > Isildur

Hey. Hey. Athens had also turned into a tyrannical hegemon over the rest of Greece by that point anyway. Everyone was terrible!

Sauron lost after being a guy who with a single swing of a mace could send entire groups of dudes flying, and then decided to stop with that and sloooowly reach for Isildur with his most vulnerable, existence load bearing point extended outward for him to cut off.
