The resurrection of Jean Grey should be an actual story instead of whatever nonsense Byrne did back in the day. Byrne, not Claremont. The issue is that resurrecting Jean Grey was a mistake that shouldn't have happened at all. Either time.

One of the many important lessons we've collectively forgotten from the Claremont run was that you can kill X-Men and leave them dead because none of them sans Wolverine are that vital to the brand. Thank you, Thunderbird.

And yes, it remains the ultimate irony of the franchise that Claremont's run was successful for constantly doing new things with different sets of characters, only for a lot of the books to later just regurgitate and tell stories about things and characters he did, diluting the franchise's premise while not living up to its potential, when no other comic property has this issue of infinitely navel-gazing into the void. Leaving us with a series about a school where most of the stories are about faculty.

I think they realized a loud part of comicbook fandom fears change and just wants to read the same thing with slight modifications. They hate all new all different anything, which is ironic because change is what made X-Men great.

Well Marvel had several different bouts of changing the characters and the books then didn't sell so well so perhaps they're just trying to go back to a more tried and true approach, at least to them...

Other Marvel books don't have the X-Men's nostalgia problem. They just had legacy stories that ended, which happens all the time. If that stuff actually tanked sales, they wouldn't have done it for several years. But the X-Men are a special case where they can never escape the shadow of one specific run.

Well those are other Marvel books, sometimes the X-Men exist in the same universe as other characters and sometimes they don't...and now we have several books that are selling very low but they keep them around...at least for now...

Salvador's art is just fantastic. It reminds me of the good old CC days.
    There is so much details.

Uncanny X-Men #1 art sucks in comparison.

If only the story is as good as the art...
