I have that issue, too, and I've always wondered: Did Batman dig a proper grave or did he just pile some rocks over the corpse? I guess he didn't think about the bothersome details during his hallucination.

Maybe, given it was a hostile planet, Batman didn't have the strength or the tools (lacking his utility belt) to dig a proper grave and just put the rocks over the body to protect it from the elements and scavengers, intending to come back later--but he came out of his altered state before that happened.

Morrison also gave Batman a "Sci-fi" closet that held other-worldly weapons and at least one spacecraft. Maybe some of the adventures happened.
