    Default Fantastix Fan Club

FKA The Liberteens. Appeared under their new name in Fantastic Four #4. Members are Hope (diamond body), Iceberg (ice body), 2-D (basically the same powers as Flatman from the Great Lakes Avengers), and Ms. Fantastix (formerly Miss America, has flight and super strength - presumably changed her name both to imitate Reed and because another Ms. America now exists).

Probably. At least three of them were teen heros briefly seen back in Avengers: The Initiative. Time may have passed, but still.

I hope Slott goes into more detail with what happened with all the heroes created for The Initiative that went on the wayside.

Huh... I didn't start this thread, the couple of posts above it must've been deleted.

Anyway, yeah, they're a teen team - no way are any of the members older than 21, and that assumes they were 19 in the Initiative.

Blue Eagle was drinking in this first appearance. why do you say that none of them could be older than 21? just curious.

They were called the LiberTEENS. Are you sure that drink was alcohol?

Teens drinking underage? Clearly that's impossible.

quite certain. but I was more asking if there was something in the text that established them all as underage (besides their name). the X-Men aren't all male afterall.

They did start out all male, lol. Jean was recruited in issue 1, but the other four were already a team before we met them.

What I figure happened is, the Liberteens were now past their 20th birthdays and decided they needed a new name. The dismantling of the Initiative had already prompted a relocation and Blue Eagle quit. When Parker Industries went down, the four remaining members bought the Baxter Building, likely by using the proceeds from the sale of their old HQ. That's the point where they decide to replace the Fantastic Four, so Ms America rebrands herself as Ms Fantastix and uses that as the new team name. Of course they didn't know that their publicist and manager would set up fake fights, nor that the F4 were about to return.

Here's hoping we will see more of them! With the FF back, they aren't exactly limited to four members.

    Is Whiz Kid dead?

    Where is Blue Eagle?

    What about The Revolutionary??

I figure the Liberteens all had to be at least 18 when they were introduced. The Initiative wouldn't have let minors be members of an active 50 State team. Reptil and Striker were both registered but they weren't even trainees at Camp Hammond because they were underage so they were basically reserves. Reptil had a crash course but that was a special case because his powers were useful for the mission at hand

Of course Stature was a full time trainee at Camp Hammond and she was 15 at best. So the rules were a bit fast and loose

I wonder about Hope and Bling. Very similar. Long lost sisters?

I really like the diamond dreads she has on that cover in OP. I didn't realize she was African American until I saw that variant.

I was actually disappointed when I saw that her hair was more crystalline like Bling's in the issue itself.

I'd like to get a back story on which of them are mutants, Inhumans, or mutates.
