Just a massively interesting side note. The film was initially conceived as King Kong vs FRANKENSTEIN. They couldn't get full rights to Frankenstein as Universal owned the rights to his iconic design. So the electricity was probably just a hold over from the original script where it makes sense for Frankenstein to use it.
King Kong vs. Godzilla must not and cannot ever happen again. The concept is ridiculous. And Godzilla would step on him and/or tail-slap him and the film would end after the obligatory twenty introductory minutes with human characters.

How about this, a crossover of Pacific Rim, Godzilla and King Kong and we give Kong a Jaeger. There you go, a more realistic fight.
