I enjoy listening to HOWARD DUFF in "The Adventures of Sam Spade" radio series.
Cool Ads for the show and Wild Cream.

I liked Duff on that OTR show myself, as well as Gerald Mohr as Phillip Marlowe.

I'll save some trouble, I see a ton of these are coming from this thread at CollectedEditions
Great resource. Also give the actual issue name, # and year. Do you guys post there?

Up until now, I haven't used the Collected Editions thread though I know about it, because even with the index it's still a bit of a job to navigate through the pages to get to the one ad you want to find and even then it's not much use because you can't copy those images onto this thread (or I can't) without a lot of trouble to save the image onto my computer and then put it up here.

But I did navigate that thread today, because I've been trying to track down a certain house ad this week and by finding the version on the Collected Editions thread I was at least put on the scent of the strange animal I was looking for, which I finally cornered in its lair using Bing. This scan was used on "Dial B for Blog," while we're being totally forthcoming about original sources.

This is the house ad for Carl Bork's first appearance in THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD 81 (December 1968 - January 1969), on sale October 31st, 1968. Which will have importance for anyone who has seen THE FLASH season 5, episode 11 "Seeing Red." The art in the B&B ish is by the odd team of Neal Adams and Vince Colleta. Also featured in the ad, GREEN LANTERN 65 (December 1968), on sale October 10th, 1968--and that art is by the even team of Mike Sekowsky and Joe Giella.

I have to say, starting reading in 74 when I was 8 through 84 when I was 18, was the best ten years of comics that I can recall. So many great stories from so many different kinds of comics and companies plus all the reprints from the 60's that were available made it my favorite time as a fan.

85 through 95 was a pretty epic decade because comics matured right as I did but, the previous decades was so much more awesome still. Mostly because comics were still just trying to be comics. Nothing more. Nothing less.
