Actually even bad buzz can help shows now these companies that analyze social media activity of shows usually scan for talk and don't differentiate between good buzz and bad buzz just buzz.

It does not matter that there were multiple years between seasons of Daredevil because the show had not been canceled at the time. If the show has NOT been canceled by Netflix, then the actors are still under contract even if there is an extended period of time between seasons, but I'd wager that there are even limits to this. Once the show HAS been canceled, then there is only a limited time that actors can be held before they are released. And it's not another two years.

In their current forms, these Netflix shows are definitely done.
Doesn't have a home? Erm Disney will own controlling interest in Hulu and already said they're pumping loads of money into original mature content on there as well as making it internationally avaliable so it can become a netflix rival. Since Disney will own the distribution system as well as the production house it's a massively moot point since the notes a series in production would recieve would only be coming from Disney/Marvel before they're released on a streaming platform owned by Disney. Removing Netflix from the equation is a huge reduction on production notes, so it's a moot point.

Shows hold produced content all the time waiting for the right time to release it. It's not some crazy thing a network would never do. The norm now is literally to film a whole show, post production it, have the whole show finished. Send it out to reviews months in advance and then bulk release it months later. Thats what they did with Daredevil season 3, there were reviewers hinting they'd been given Daredevil episode to review before they even got Iron Fist season 2 episodes to review. Timing doesn't matter so much, especially not for a streaming service.

You don't know that, the Hannibal actors were still under control for over a year after the show was cancelled by NBC. You've no idea what the terms of their contracts are. And more important majority of those actors aren't getting any big career roles outside of Netflix MCU, so they'd prob come back anyway.

If these characters appeared in any of the Marvel films I can guarantee they’d still be on right now. The problem was that whole promise became insignificant

Geez, you really want these shows to come back, don't you? But they're just not going to.

The Hannibal actors were not held a year after the show was canceled.

    From wiki:

On June 22, 2015, NBC cancelled the series. Fuller initiated talks with Amazon Video and Netflix for a renewal. In July 2015, the cast were released after their contracts expired...

The 2 Hannibal leads said they would be interested in continuing the series if a new home could be found, but that doesn't mean they were contractually obligated to do so. As I've said to you in other posts, the window for holding an actor after a series cancellation tends to be weeks, not months or years. This was the case with the Dallas revival that I talked about and now we see that it was the case with Hannibal. According to Variety and Matthew Ball, it is also the case with the Marvel shows.

That doesn't mean that they can NEVER be talked into coming back if they are available. As we've seen in the past year, revivals of old series are the new thing in Hollywood, but again no one HAS to come back. It was also said by Matthew Ball that the fact that Netflix has the streaming rights to their seasons would make new seasons on Hulu an unattractive proposition for Hulu even if Disney owns 70% of it.

However, you really want to believe these shows are coming back so I hope it happens for you.

Yup, people get mad when you bring that up. But the truth of the matter Marvel shares some of the blame.

    2. Disney/Marvel have said the opposite of those characters/actors coming back.
    3. Disney already said the adult stuff will be pushed to Hulu and that the supers will find a home there sooner than later.
    4. It sounds more and more likely they are going to be rebooted via Avengers 4 with some actor changes for some of the cast. Case in point, Doctor Strange 2 has been the rumored home of a rebooted Iron Fist and he's also been rumored to be a part of a new Shang-Chi movie.
    5. They have Punisher S2, Jones S3, and Defenders S2 still as part of the contract, that could be the last hurrah for this cast, too.

agreed with most of this. I don't think Defenders season 2 is happening.
