    Special Message:
We'd also like to pay respect to Stan "The Man" Lee (RIP) who inspired generations of pro and amateur creators such as ourselves. There would be no Marvel Universe, no Cinematic Universe, no mainstream "geek/nerd" acceptance as we know it today without his Fantastic foresight, Incredible creativity, Amazing way with words, Mighty kindness and Uncanny charisma that transcended the medium. We can gather here on CBR, talk comics 24-7, see our favorite heroes on TV and at the theater, read new issues on our mobile phones or smell the finely printed pages of today's comics, pick up a plethora of collected editions in bookstores across the globe, talk about it around the water-cooler, proudly wear superheroes on our tee-shirts or sneakers, play them in video games, have thousands of toys and licensed items for purchase just a click away....and it is accepted, more than that....encouraged. Comics are cool. For everyone. Much of that can be attributed to Stan Lee's contributions, his legacy and enduring impact on this thing we love. Thanks Stan, you were...are....forever, undeniably The Man!

    Written by GRANT MORRISON
    Plot by nx01a
    Art by JEROME OPEÑA
    'The Scarlet Swamp'
•Stopping BELASCO's demonic invasion was simple enough: figure out what his handmaiden truly wanted, and AGATHA HARKNESS correctly surmised that MAGIK's ultimate goal was freedom from Belasco's yoke. MAGIK teleports the fiendish hordes and Belasco back to and seals them in Limbo in exchange for DOCTOR VOODOO retrieving the Beatrix Medallion whose five bloodstones manifest the continuing darkening of Illyana's soul. Four down, one to go.
•Monster hunter ELSA BLOODSTONE's extreme reservations about Magik are put on hold when the teleportation disc intended to send them to Agatha's Salem sanctum instead literally drops them into the swamp outside Citrusville, Florida.
•Running through the swamp is a young woman dressed in tattered red and black robes. WANDA MAXIMOFF ran from her father before his militant group attacked a nearby military base. Now she runs with tangible randomness roiling around her to slay serpentine stalkers. She does not know the OPHIDIAN ORDER hunting her but her chaotic mutant power is central to their sinuous schemes!

Daisy doesn’t know that Jessica is now working for MI5 behind her back – and what she cannot know is that Jessica has been ordered to bring whatever knowledge Carnage has directly back with her to Britain. But what does Carnage know that both MI5 and SHIELD want so badly – to the point where both organizations are willing to jeopardise American and British relations in order to recover the missing symbiote first?

BLACK PANTHER: KING OF WAKANDA #1
    Written by MALCOLM JONES
    Plot by MARVELL2100
    Art by ADI GRABOV
    UNCONQUERED!
One year ago: King T'Chaka of Wakanda is assassinated by the arms dealer Ulysses Klaue
Eight months ago: T'Chaka's young son T'Challa, now king, kills Klaue and avenges his father.
Six months ago: T'Challa learns that the League of Nations-Azani, Niganda, Genosha and N'Gabo- sponsored Klaue and are behind his fathers' death. War is declared!
One month ago: Wakanda has defeated the League of Nations.
Today: Prime Minister Shuri, younger sister of King T'Challa, stands before the General Assembly of the United Nations. Wakanda's war with the League of Nations has resulted a shake-up on the African continent and across the entire globe. Many world leaders saw Wakanda as the aggressor and have condemned its attacks and its leader, the Black Panther. The United States leads a coalition of nations that demands sanctions and restitution for the countries harmed by Wakanda. There are others who stand with Wakanda as a sovereign nation with a right to defend itself. As the arguments grow louder and more intense, Shuri steps to the podium. A hush falls across the assembly as she delivers a short but intense message before she departs: Wakanda will defend itself against any threat perceived or otherwise. Those who act against it, do so at their own peril! Elsewhere, T'Challa calls in General Okoye to plan their next move. The world will act against them and they must be prepared. But first, the newly defeated Queen Zandia of Niganda must be dealt with as she demands an audience with T'Challa to discuss terms of Wakanda's surrender(?)!

BUCKY BARNES: THE LONG, COLD WINTER #1
    Written by TOM KING
    Plot by GLOBAL HONORED
    Art by J.H. WILLIAMS III
    "A Day in the Life"
    After Hours.
There's a burglary about to go down inside the Library of Congress. Europe's most renowned superthief, Batroc ze Leaper, has targeted Jefferson's original rough draft of The Declaration of Independence. But what does the French Savate master want with this cherished piece of U.S. history? Nothing it turns out, besides the vast fortune he was paid to steal it. Peggy Carter's intel points to a Russian Oligarch with an Americana fetish named Taktarov, who wishes to display it on his 600 foot yacht The Yank, right next to the ten gallon hat John Wayne wore in Liberty Valance. Bucky and the Sidekickers are on the scene to save the scroll but Batroc's heavily armed henchmen and gravity defying parkour skills allow him to escape again, albeit empty handed. Bucky drops a sawbuck on the counter in the gift shop and along with Falcon sets sail for international waters to pay Taktarov a visit, handing him a stern warning to find something better to do with his billions along with a souvenir copy of the Declaration, on the house. Then Dum Dum calls, they're needed back in D.C. There's reason to believe there will be an assassination attempt on Senator Wertham at this morning's rally!
    Day Shift.
Guarding the controversial outspoken populist politician. Who would want to kill this guy...how much time do you have? The Sidekickers set up a perimeter but somehow they missed a window. A shot rings out.. Redwing takes one for The Senator. The would be assassin, decked out in some sort of protective armor, flees the scene on motorcycle. Luckily Bucky has his own chopper and gives pursuit. A high speed chase ensues through the National Mall, past the Smithsonian. Toro takes a direct hit from the shooter that shorts him out. Toro is down! Falcon clears the Mall, protecting innocent onlookers. Bucky closes in, the gunman turns to fire but loses control of his bike, crashing and burning on Independence Avenue. Bucky wades through the wreckage but it is too late. The assassin is dead. Bucky removes the man's armored helmet to reveal....a boy! A child that couldn't be older then 12 or 13 did this.. Cameras are quickly on the scene, such is the Washington press. Then Wendy Wertham, social media darling and the Senator's daughter, rushes in front of the lights towards a startled and shaken Bucky before he can react. Miss Wertham wraps her arms around Bucky in a bold embrace, kisses him on his bloodied cheek, then turns to face the media, "Take a good look at the man who saved my father, this is the face of a real american hero!"

EVERYBODY LOVES HAWK GUY...er, HAWKEYE #1
    Written by BRIAN K VAUGHAN
    Plot by GLOBAL HONORED
    Art by GREG CAPULLO
"There Must Be Something in the Water"
Something fishy is going on in the Schuykill River. Two coal companies robbed in the night of their payrolls down in Minersville last week, the only clues left behind were slippery wet prints and a half-devoured muskellunge, then a string of break-ins at the riverside business district over in Conshy days later, and worse - the cut up bodies of suspected gangsters keep washing ashore all along the metropolis Philadelphia riverbanks. The common thread: a wave of shark sightings in those areas! A River Shark..what the...!?! Now the Annual Dragon Boat Festival faces cancellation over fear that there's a real monster below the surface. The papers are having a field day. Top Detective Gloria Irving has her hands full with an an undermanned task force and an over-sized organized crime investigation which means she can't be bothered by these crazy land shark theories, so she enlists the services of the city's newest resident crimefighter - The Hawk Guy (Correction: it's H-A-W-K-E-Y-E) to get to the bottom of this river crime crisis. Clint's old mentor, Jacques Duquense (formerly known as The Swordsman), who is now a popular business leader in the city, has volunteered some of his"best" men to aid Clint in the hunt and capture of the creature terrorizing the waterways and the upcoming boat race Duquesne Dry-Cleaning is the chief sponsor for. These helpers turn out to be fellow former carnival acts like Clint, but they aren't like him at all he'll soon discover. The Great Gambonnos have ulterior motives for finding and terminating this shark menace before the police do. Can Clint keep these shady acrobats from flying off the handle? Will Hawkeye get to show off his net arrow fishing prowess? Or will Tiger Shark put the bite on our hero's big Philly debut?
Special Message from AOM: Don't forget to download the HAWKi app (*developed by Goliath Software*) on your favorite smart device. It's like Uber, but for a hero. A hero that may in fact take an Uber to get to your location of rescue. Are we missing a cross-promotional revenue stream here?

    Reed Richards, Mr Fantastic.
    Susan Storm, the Invisible Woman
    Johnny Storm, the Human Torch
    Ben Grimm, the Thing
A space flight and exposure to cosmic rays have given these four adventurers fantastic abilities. Headquartered in the US Government’s restricted Area 44, the Fantastic Four are our front line in making the unknown known.
We check in with the four on an average day (for them anyway). Reed is in New York appearing on a late night talk show with his professional rival Michio Kaku and the two face a challenge to their scientific knowledge on live TV from a woman known only as … the Thinker.. Sue Storm is in negotiations with tech titan Baintronics for not only a sponsorship contract, but a big government contract to produce next generation spacecraft. Johnny Storm is trying to pair himself off with young Baintronics CEO Sunset Bain, much to his sister’s chagrin. And Ben Grimm encounters the buff seven foot tall amazonian known only as Thundra. Our creative team says they fight, but since this IS a highly classified area, you’ll have to buy the book to find out.

    Written by JOSHUA DYSART
    Plot by MARVELL2100
    Art by SALVADOR LARROCA
    THE FUTURE MAN
Young Anthony Stark has been many things to many people throughout his life: billionaire genius, hero, playboy and quite often misunderstand. But Tony has always seen himself as a futurist, someone who sees beyond the here and now and looks towards what humans will be generations from now. He believes that humanity is destined to travel far beyond the confines of our own galaxy to the far corner of the universe and beyond.
So after their parents' death, he and his also brilliant brother Arno built Stark Energy, a high-tech aerospace company that will lead humankind to space and beyond! One of Tony's greatest creations is also his newest. He has designed a suit that will withstand the cold void of space with a reusable energy source along with offensive and defensive capabilities. He calls it Iron Man and it will be the prototype that will lead humans to the stars!
As he works alone in his lab to improve some of the specs on the suit, a brilliant flash appears and a portal forms from thin air! Stepping through the portal emerges a regal figure draped in green and purple armor. His name is Kang The Conqueror and he hails from the future with a warning to Stark: do not meddle in things you know nothing of! Leave the future to those who can tame it! Tony quickly dons the Iron Man suit and prepares to fight. Kang simply presses a button on his armored gauntlet and they both disappear in a flash to re-appear hundreds of years in the future on a barren, desolate world almost devoid of life. Kang tells Tony to look around and look at his "good deeds". Look at what his good works have done to the planet Earth!

    “After Party”
    - Once again it's time for the 20th annual P.R.I.D.E fundraising gala. For LA's best, and brightest it's a time to give back to the community that they ever so care about. For a specific group of teenagers it's just another lousy night with their parents.
    - But at least there's the after party at Nico's. Their parents drink a bit more than they could at the gala, and the kids can kick it by the pool or in the game's room. It's not as bad as you'd think, occasionally make-outs are to be had. The real fun is always snooping around another person's house.
    - After several underwhelming minutes of snooping the Six-ish teenagers concede defeat in the Minoru's Accusing Parlor. But with one wrong step they open a door, that they wish they had never gone through.

    THE SPECTACULAR WEB WARRIORS #1
    Written by G. WILLOW WILSON
    Plot by VGCINEMA
    Art by DAVID MARQUEZ
    "Trust"
    • Hobgoblin is on the loose and unfortunately for the Web Warriors they don't have any clue where to start. Peter thinks they should go around asking people who might've seen him escape, Gwen thinks that they should go to the police and see if they know anything, while Miles thinks they should ask other heroes if they have already caught him. None of them reach an agreement as Ganke suggests that they should split up and try each of their ideas.
    • Peter spent his time asking students what they might've seen. Hours and hours. Student after student. Rejection after rejection. Peter stayed resilient as he pursued what he thought to be leads only for him to reach a dead end each time. Ten. Twenty. Thirty. Fifty. All of them went nowhere in the end. Peter kept up hope. Sooner or later something had to come of this. He was Spider-Man. He was wearing his suit and everything. As far as he could see that had to mean something. It needed to mean something. He started wondering about his team and questions why they are even together if they can't agree on how to find the Hobgoblin. He also doesn't blame them because so far his idea hasn't panned out. He hoped Spider-Woman and... the other Spider-Man was having a better time than him.
    • Gwen decided she didn't have time to ask every cop in the precinct but she also didn't want to confront her father, Captain George Stacy. But she had heard about a good man who had helped heroes in that past. Namely Spider-Man. Maybe he would be willing to help her now. Even then... she decided to ask him about it as herself rather than Spider-Woman. After meeting Jefferson Davis she could tell he was kind and genuine. She hadn't known any other cop out in the city that cared for people more than her father, but if there ever was one, it would've been him. Unfortunately he didn't know anything. Although his demeanor seemed to have changed when she brought up the subject. She left the cop wondering what else she could do, she knew the answer, but there was no way she was going to confront her father.
    • Miles grabbed his costume and went out hunting for other heroes. Almost immediately he regretted his decision. He started worrying about what he would say. He really wished he had listened to the others. He wasn't ready to be a hero. He only agreed to this a few days ago. He doesn't even know any other heroes. Spider-Man and Spider-Woman probably knew hundreds. They probably already had a ton of leads and he's out here halfheartedly looking for other people to help them. Miles and other meetup afterwards and he explains exactly what happened to him. Spider-Woman hugs him and explains that they have their own hang-ups and maybe if they had trusted each other they probably would have found him. Miles reluctantly agrees and thinks about what trust mean and reveals his identity to the others. Spider-Man gets upset until Spider-Woman unmasks and sees that she's his best friend. Peter quickly unmasks and explains that if they are to ever be a real team they have to be honest with each other. Miles agrees wholeheartedly while Gwen's guilt overwhelms her.

    • Bucky Barnes: Long, Cold Winter #1 (self support)
    • Captain America #1 (This Cap facing real world evils of today, hits home!)

    • Everybody Loves Hawk Guy...er, Hawkeye #1 (self support)
    • Fantastic Four #1 (definitely hitting the FF vibe we all love)
    • Guardians of the Galaxy #1 (GoTG takes a Trekkian, POTA twist and I dig it)

FANTASTIC FOUR #1 (I am expecting a comp copy)
MARVEL SWIMSUIT SPECIAL #1 (getting me some fine beachfront comics)
