    Default Doomsday Clock #8 Analysis

    It took me awhile to get to this. I suspect that others felt, as I did, that the issue had a lot of unknowns regarding the hows and whys of what we saw. That's not bad writing – that's good intrigue. But I think there are explanations behind that intrigue and we may be down to the endgame with a lot of important stuff happening in DC #8, behind the scenes.

    I think Veidt was the one who fired the shot at the glass people, there's a gun and a soldier's uniform in the second to last panel. He's essentially accelerated a Metahuman war which will lead to the battle between Manhattan and Superman.

    Interesting interpretation of that art. If so, Veidt's control room must be extremely close to Red Square, or he's able to teleport. I don't see why he wouldn't be able to finagle someone else into firing a gunshot, but the hands on the trigger seem to matter less than what this event is going to cause.
