Yeah, no. While not awful, I can't help being fond of her original, cool-70s-college-chick look.

I've been going through my back issues for fun and I would love to see the Metal Men get another crack in the next five years or so. There's a lot of untapped potential there.
While they're an offshoot of the flagship team book, I think the Justice Riders would also be fun to revisit.
I like cowboys. Sue me.

I think they should give Duke Thomas a boost. Have him and Jaime Reyes be the next gen Blue and Gold.
THE SIGNAL (Duke Thomas) is DC's secret shonen protagonist so I made him a fandom wiki
also, check out "The Signal Tape" a Duke Thomas fan project.
currently following:

- Marvel: TBD
- Manga (Shonen/Seinen): One Piece, My Hero, Dandadan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8, Reincarnation of The Veteran Soldier, Oblivion Rouge, ORDEAL, The Breaker: Eternal Force

I picked Jaime because he's the current Blue Beetle so he has a link to the old team and he's gonna get a movie so they should be giving him a push soon. However, Duke and Sideways would make a lot of sense; invert the colors, Signal could be somewhat of a Ted Cord and Sideways would be the Booster Gold.

Always wanted to see more of Captain Comet.........lol, but realize I'm probably in my own minority.

I appreciate what you're saying. Done well, handing over the gimmick can work just spiffy. My personal philosophy is that iconic ideas are better off with only the minimal cosmetic surgery, and new ideas should have room to grow into something great of their own.
There's examples to both support and dispute this opinion. I just prefer distinctiveness over brand repurposing (which is probably why I'm getting cranky about some of the movie/tv adaptations these days).
