Wasn't there a really nasty rape controversy beween Kate and Nocturna in the comics? I remember reading articles about it. Seems dumb that the show might be heading in that direction, because a lot of people hated that storyline.

That is Right. Nocturna raped Kate and it was only in the one-shot Crimes of Passion that they finally adressed it. But even if CW uses the Vampire Version, I would think that they would not make the same mistakes the writer did during his run.
