We've had Tony Stark as Iron Man for *twelve years* and Chris Rogers as Cap for eight. And Kate as Batwoman? Not even a year.

It's a pretty bad comparison, and, even if it wasn't totally skewed, I for one, would rather see Winter Soldier, War Machine, Falcon, Rescue, etc. explore and develop their own identities post-Tony and Steve, than 'take on the mantles' of Iron Man or Captain America, so it's also wrong, in that not 'everyone is okay' with it.

It's the same difference really if anything I think batwoman is easier to replace than Ironman or cap because she hasn't been around as long as the other 2.

I think that speaks more to a recasting then the need for a new Batwoman altogether.

Probably but who knows maybe a new batwoman can leed to a really great tv show and it keeps the door open for Ruby to do a team up down the road I know it's a big IF but I'll hold out hope.

I don't really care what they think and I'm a huge fan of Batgirl Cass. It's not like her being straight was a defining feature in the comics, anyway.

They will bring in a character with no explanation. This isn't Marvel where they will spend a whole season building up the character into the hero. She will be Batwoman from episode 1. They will flesh out how she got there later.

Cassandra is my favorite all-time favorite heroine. My first knee jerk reaction is to sign this. All I ask is for two requests
1. Pre New-52 Cass
2. A decent writer

This is a comic book forum so the population here is used to Cap and Iron Man being replaced by supporting cast members. Kate has held on to the Batwoman title without contest in the comics so fans will think it's weird.

Except the showrunners and quite a few and vocal fans are committed to a gay Batwoman, so you can expect any replacement will have the same sexuality as Kate.

It was one of the main selling points for the series.

I mean, a young, mute, Asian girl with learning difficulties would be a similarly very diverse show but it would be a different series then Batwoman.

Anything convoluted probably developed that way over time and not have to be re-established straight from the first episode.
