So i just read about the rumors of Kate getting killed off in Season 2.

If they do this, then the show is dead. Seriously. How the fuck could anybody think that this would NOT cause a major shitstorm?!

And bear in mind, I'm all for a new Batwoman.

Its like they're actively trying to get the show canceled. I'm not even a big fan, its just comical to see them making such stupid decisions and I feel sorry for the fans of season 1.

Nothing shows respect for what Ruby did with Kate like killing off her character. You can just feel the admiration

I like Kat MacNamara, but let's see, then the CW would have lead female superheroes, Supergirl, Stargirl, White Canary (she's the lead of Legends, for sure and is the face of that show) and the new Green Arrow .... all blonde white women? I don't see that happening...

    Stargirl isn't Earth Prime.

... So that makes it ok?
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

Heh. In the past, producers specifically killed off characters for actors they didn't like or had a problem with in order to make it virtually impossible for them to return in the future.

Yeah, I guess I gave the producers too much credit or at least assumed they had more common sense then they are showing now.

Yeah, it would be one thing if all this respect for Kate led to them writing her out in such a way where Ruby comes back, but definitively killing her to prop up an OC as Batwoman just feels so tone-deaf.

Babs, Cass and Steph are technically Batwomen; they just lie about their age to help protect their identity.

i'm not trying to be salty. but i come to forums to discuss. you guys don't need to shut down my opinion just because i was open to other possibilities. felt really lame.

I'm sorry if it felt like we were putting down your opinion.

It just did not seem like a practical decision to make from a show perspective...and, honestly, it still doesn't.
