And plenty on other sites pointing out that this is just the comics logo - the CW are void of creativity. 'New' Logo is lifted straight from the comics, 'new' Batsuit is basically the same with the tinniest of alterations despite having a whole new character fill the mantle.

As such I have no faith in their ability to do a good job going forward in any capacity - I mean by all accounts they came rather close to paralyzing their first lead filming the very first episode, so don't trust them on safety either.

Yep, because anything good about the first season was lifted from the comics. They are void of creativity, and they did nearly paralyze her.

Oh, c'mon. Not everything. The midseason finale, for instance? Pretty much the entire second half? Great episodes, but not directly drawn from the source.

I am a Kate Kane as Batwoman fan. Love her in the comics and in the animated movie Batman Bad Blood.
I was/am a huge fan of season one of the show, was over the moon Batwoman finally had her own live action show.
Season 2 I will give it a go BUT I am still extremely disappointed that Kate has been removed from the show.
Kate should have been recast or the very least they should have given the mantel to an existing comics character.
Ryan Wilder to me sounds like an adult (porn) movie stars/characters name. The name is silly, her living in a van and being a drug runner just doesn't seem right.
I still can't believe they just did not recast Kate, so easy to have done that and so easy to explain why she looks different.
If they were adamant about wanting a woman of colour to take over the Batwoman mantle why not just say she is from another Universe as we all know there is a Multiverse and in her universe she is Kate Kane.
I just hate they removed Kate for some random character they just made up.

I enjoyed the Avengers films, but why are we discussing them in a Batwoman tv show thread?

On a more serious note - look, your examples are that something is not going to be a certain thing. In this case they are saying that something is going to be a certain thing.

Considering all the negative feedback: if she was a comics character they probably would have said something by now. It also likely would have meant changing the sexuality of a pre-existing comics character - which is probably why they decided on an OC if they didn't want to keep Kate. You also have to consider that most pre-existing comic characters have their own mantle that they are more associated with.

Look, you can argue about this if you want, I don't care since I won't be watching the second season anyway - but them lying about an OC if true would probably just peeve off more people anyway.
