I never liked Basilisk. My least favorite version of Cyclops.

AoA is where is at.

Where he was considered for Horseman of Apocalypse position besides being underpowered in comparison to the other 3. Plus, the badass design.

I mean the whole thing could be worse and someone decided that if cyclops was going to die at least it wasn't doing something terrible. imagine how tyke or the x-men would be feeling about this.

Things definitely went out of hand but i also feel that they just didn't know what to do with Scott anymore. So much of the stories focused on him were about extinction, after extinction, there is a limit about how many times that story can be told in certain amount of time. But when there aren't extinction or revolutions , what was marvel going to do with Scott?

Easy.

Solve problems/missions like he did with X-Factor.

He can be Survivor Mode Cyclops but he also does professional work and/or both.

Cyclops AoA was very powerful, didn't destroy a hand of adamantium to Wolverine? which is supposed to be indestructible.

When Jean returned from death, the O5 created X-factor because the X-men were no longer the X-men and didn't do the right thing for the mutants.

Currently Jean is not working with the X-men, her Red team like the Blue team, they are not really X-men although in Jean's team there are some X-men like Kurt, Storm and Gambit. So It wouldn't be surprising when Scott returns, he and Jean create a new X-factor to fight for the mutants.

What?! Basilisk sounds cool as hell. And it makes so much sense.

Pretty sure he just destroyed the ligaments between the joints, not actual adamantium.

My idea would be is that would be the actual 616 Scott. Why or how he is alive would be a mystery but that cliffhanger would be a teaser of whats to come

Well that's what a basilisk is - rather than a one-eyed monster like a cyclops, the basilisk destroys every living thing it looks at.
