Kris Anka revealed these designs for an X-Book that never made it on stands. Just a little speculation thread about who might've been the writer or what the team could've been about.

X-Men White.
Mystique and Sabretooth shouldn't be on X-Men.
Everyone except Sabretooth and Mystique!

Looks interesting. I guess this team would have played a similar role to Magneto's team on Uncanny but more focused againts the inhumans
Kris Anka is awesome.
Here's the immediate reference point this image places me in:

There's a desperate anti-utopian gritty Bendis UXM vibe to Anka's never-team that I like.
Bishop's stark future reality in place of Scott's desperate revolution.
Raw symmetry...with Bishop at the axis. Nice balance.
Team Winter...Team Without Hope
Dangerous and volatile unless by strength of necessity.
Thank you very much for sharing.

Yuck to Mystique. Take her off & it's perfect.
Honestly, Monet on a team with Emma after so long would've been interesting. I get the feeling it may have been the start of planning for what eventually became Bunn's Uncanny. Because there's 3 of his cast members there. Creed, Monet, and Mystique.
Not big on Sabretooth & Bishop's outfits. Monet's looks interesting. Would've loved seeing it in full form, as it could've been one of her better ones. Much better than the Uncanny costume she had or the X-Factor reset she's gotten in Weapon X.
Damn, this has me curious for what we could've had there.

Just saw his tweet. He mentions being able to share the designs because they're never going to be used. But the concepts he was brought on to help develop could still be used in the future, and he doesn't wanna spoil for creative teams who may bring some of this back.

Not a fan of Anka's redesigns but Bishop looks nice.
More than likely would've passed on the book as a whole though. That lineup is...not the best imo but I appreciate it for trying to be different.
I like Bishop’s look, but Monet looks more like Frenzy. I’d kill for a Hellfire Club mini series.

With Sabertooth and Monet there, I think this must be a rejected pitch for ANAD Uncanny X-Men.

Emma - I like her uniform. Not really sold on the hairstyle though.
Mystique - Looks good, but I'd swap Raven for Betsy.
Sabretooth - I really like this look, but he shouldn't be an X-man. I'd swap him out for Bobby (Iceman) or Roberto.
Bishop - Looks good and he looks like he could be the leader of the group. I'd love that for Bishop as he's the only black male (and there's not many) that made it to some semblance of popularity.
Monet - Nothing exciting, but I'd be interested to see her dynamic with Emma again.
Armor - Just ok and I would prefer Jubilee, but Hisako would bring New X-men representation. Surge would be fine too.
Chamber - Looks cool & is certainly an underused character, but I'd switch him out for Illyana or Kurt.
