Here's my guess. The word "destroyed" is a hint that leads to the Destroyer - a character that has been around since WWII. When WWII was over, the Destroyer and his lover, Union Jack, formed an undercover superhero group called the V Battalion, with the purpose of hunting leftover Nazis and preventing new holocausts and the rise of future would-be conquerors like Hitler. Given such a mission statement and the fact that they were active in the 50's and 60's, it seems plausible to me that they might have had a hand in manipulating events that spawned a new generation of superheroes.
I'm gonna guess it's a god figure doing all this jazz.
What's a good anagram for Stan Lee? Because that's going to be the name of the cosmic being that they credit with destroying/rebooting Marvel history.
“True peace is not merely the absence of tension; it is the presence of justice.”
~Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
“If I love you, I have to make you conscious of what you don’t see.”
~James Baldwin
At this point ii am not even worried about any of this, with War of the Realms coming in April there's no way widespread change across the MU is coming before then.
These are landmark events in Marvel Comics: The F4 kicked off the Age of Marvels, the Dark Phoenix Saga was the go-to X-Men story for decades, Spider-Man No More has the iconic scene with the suit in the trash can, and Captain America being frozen and found in the modern world led to the Avengers as we know them.
Now what do all these things have in common? Kang.
Fantastic Four: Kang is descended from Reed Richards by either Valeria or Franklin.
Avengers: Kang is arguably the most recognized villain not named Ultron.
X-Men: Kang has a direct role in the backstory of Apocalypse.
Spider-Man: Kang once impersonated Spider-Man to, guess what, kill the Avengers.
At least that's how I would have written this.
