I had high hopes for Cebulski when he took over but these recent story arcs leave much to be desired. It's been going on long enough that it's no longer possible to blame the output on leftover projects from the Alonso era.

Marvel needs a vision for the future and should stop wasting time retconning the past. It only makes modern Marvel look bad by drawing direct comparisons to the achievements of their predecessors.

The Phoniex Force (or Jean now depending) commited suicide because she couldn’t control her power.

    Pretty much.
Thinking sensibly, the current editors aren't going to permanently change the very foundations on which these characters and Marvel were made and built.
The resulting back-lash (as opposed to the current spate of whine and bitchery...of which I too am culpable) would be absolutely catastrophic for the company.
This reads like much ado about nothing really transformative or earth-shattering in the grand scheme of things.

    Wikipedia says: spoilers:
Jean, struggling to keep control, activates an ancient Kree weapon which disintegrates her after an emotional good-bye to Cyclops. He deduces that Jean had planned her sacrifice from the moment they had landed on the moon.
    end of spoilers

Someone on another thread summed it up nicely.

So much for celebrating 80 years of marvel.

“Here’s a one shot of Millie the Model”

    Enjoy.

When was the last time Millie showed up in anything? That Janet-focused Unstoppable Wasp issue?

Instead of damaging the universe, couldn't we have had a comic series like 52 where we would focus on the B-List and C-List characters to make them more interesting?

So you just never know the gestation period for these things.

Also, once we have more info, it may not be as close to Doomsday Clock as it might first appear.

What would be hilarious is if this comes out and finishes before Doomsday Clock is done.
What I find odd is the suggestion that anyone would want to copy the valueless knockoff that is Doomsday Clock.

LOL! I think I'm going to enjoy this thread far more than the actual comics.
Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's oldest character, will have been published for 85 years in 2024. So where's my GOOD Namor anniversary ongoing, Marvel?
