X-Men Red #11 review *spoilers*

This book had a very limited, on the nose messaging almost every issue concerning morality and ethics. Of course it matters.

Honestly, Taylor should have just made up his own villain. This Nova had practically nothing to do with the original(and in comparison absolutely pales), and he never even bothered to explain how she transitioned from her re-education in Stuff to this present form. Why was she focused on Jean? Why not Emma, the Cuckoos, or Xavier?

Because Jean was doing something about mutants.

IMO this compares poorly to Cassandra's resolution in New X-Men. In NXM Emma's solution was brilliant, and the stakes felt high throughout. This just felt... flat, when it didn't feel ridiculous.

The moralizing monologue at the end makes what... eleven such speeches for Jean and co? Actually twelve if you count the annual. At some point too much politics is just too much politics. It would be so much more impactful if we weren't getting beaten over the head with it ever single issue.

She probably doesn't know Xavier is back alive yet. And she wasn't going against Jean because she has a personal vendetta against her like she would have with Emma and the cuckoos, but because of what she was trying to do for mutants...

She was targeting Jean even before she set out to make a diference. As per the annual, she was plotting to take down Jean since the same day that Jean came back from the dead which didnt make sense and wasnt explained.

Cass was a major player who should have come back in a major way, not in a maxi-series that isn't that relevant to the rest of the line. A new villain would've been better. Lord knows we need some.

It was. You dont know what its like now after death and a body transplant. Maybe she does know he's back. He has not made himself present and is in hiding. He's not worth going after now. Jean on the other hand is very public and is trying to push Xavier's dream forward, which is why Nova has worked to crush that.

Cassie survived her own death in utero and still came for Charles all those years later. Charles dying for like 5 minutes wouldn't be any more a severe hurdle to overcome. And certainly she'd want revenge on him, as he was the only thing in the world that registered for her. It was just him vs her. Jean and everything else were just peripheral to their central conflict.

It took her 40+ years to come after Charles. Again, maybe she is playing the long game. Going after Jean, his most prized student, and destroying his dream are both things that would hurt him.

Its stupid how this book ends with no resolution to her. We should have seen the Avengers carting her off and/or a scene of her imprisoned. Lets not forget she is an interional terrorist who has attacked multiple countries throughout Red. You dont just get to have a nannite should in your head and be cleared to walk free
