How can it be called the best team book when it was not a team book until issue 7 or 8.

Also the X-Men don't kill thing but they do slice off their enemies hands.
This book is confused. People called this a Black Ops "team" in #2 now wee are saying they're just a regular super hero team

Red is definitely good, the best book of the last few years. It brought new life to Jean after being dead so long, it was the best way to reintroduce her, it didn't had unecessary crossovers or love drama, it tried to do more than superheroes fighting heroes. Red was amazing

but like every book it had flaws. Still i believe the good things far exceed the bad ones.

At no stage did in this entire run did Nova feel like a threat to Jean. That's my biggest complaint about the book. I give it a 7 out of 10, the earlier issues were really good.

So, this book gave us Super Saiyan Gambit and Sailor Moon Jean defeating the villain by showing what feelings are like after a non-fight that was teased since this series started. Yeah, this had problems.

I see what Taylor was trying to say and accomplish (given how how he repeated the same beats more than once, at length), and I liked that final scene, but in general this just felt kind of empty and lacking in basically everything.

I hope Jean gets better, more proactive showings down the line.

Gambit moment was great. Loved it.

The Christmas issue should have been 25 pages of character feats that would have been more satisfying it would seem from the comments

This is my main issue with this book and with the X-Line as a whole.
Stories that should be relevant and important moving forward are completely ignored because:
1: Every writer is off doing their own damn thing.
2: Editors are too busy hyping up the NEXT BIG THING.
3: The publishing time-frame/schedule is so helter-skelter because of reasons 1 and 2.

Granted, XMR became a one and done LS early on...but it's relevance in the X-mythos is dismally diminished because those in charge are only just getting their act together. It feels as though that once Uncanny was on the board everything else was just pushed aside and disregarded (Extinction, anyone?). And quite frankly, that is very sad for the X-Franchise.

I have to agree with this. I'm a big Jean fan, but her main superpower in this series seemed to be giving speeches:

Issue 1: Big speech to the UN.
Issue 4: Big speech when they put on their new costumes to end the issue
Issue 5: "We're going to weaponize the truth".
Issue 7: Big speech broadcast to the world.
Issue 9: Speech to Cassandra after fakeout.
Issue 10: Big speech to end the issue.
Issue 11: Big speech to the UN again to end the issue.

Also, what happened to Forge? Did they forget about him?

It definitely is not. Taylor copypasting the bare minimum of 'social change' tweets to Jean's dialogue made this book stand out. This definitely was not a bad series, but it certainly didn't live up to the hype that came with the first 3 or 4 issues.
Just because it didn't live up to the hype doesn't mean it isn't good.

I really like that the theme of this book is empathy. It's really lacking a lot now

I love the speeches. I get that Red relied a bit too much on them but I loved the speeches for what they were lol.

I don't want to come off as hating Red. It was fun and I was entertained every issue, it's certainly better than Uncanny X-Men this week. And the message, although a bit milquetoast and passive, is cute and heartwarming. Taylor also made me love Trinary as a character and i hope to see her in more stuff soon. But Taylor fell back on sappy speeches and badass group shots almost every issue, with almost all stakes and tension being taken off the board by the penultimate issue.
