Partly because it's true to life. (No the ground didn't open up beneath me, but as a geology student I felt that 7.2 1990 Luzon earthquake. It was a mix of shock and thrill for me, because I finally got to experience something we were taught in class.)

wostblogever, cause I liked the Natural Disasters.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

RA wins it by a landslide. If that is a pun you beautiful people intended to do, I don't like it.

Didn't Rob Allen rather flood the competition?

    Congrats to the win!

Congrats Rob, that is a marvel-ous cover.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

Congratulations to Rob Allen for a cover which shows us that when the world's mightiest mortal still pales besides that world. A week like this though, reminds me of a few of the old Alfred Hitchcock Presents episodes when he'd end the show saying the topic was too serious for a joke. This is one of those weeks. We've lost too much to floods, storms, and fires in recent years and sometimes we just need to pause and reflect.

This week the captain has learned that a topic like this, like many, is one that at first hasn't a lot of possible options. But as the week goes on, there are more and more covers posted and our view increases. It's a powerful theme and the number of real life situations is staggering.
