Goodbye to X-Men: Red.

Our FINAL issue of X-Men: Red is in stores today. Rogê Antônio, Rain Beredo, and Cory Petit did such a great job on our finale.

I hope Jean's vision worked for you.

I'm truly sorry to see X-Men: Red come to an end. I could have happily written Jean and her team for years, but it wasn't to be, and I've had a great 3+ years in the X-office.

Wonderful to see the series show up on so many best of 2018 lists and to see IGN nominate Red for 'Best Limited Series of 2018'.

Today, Entertainment Weekly named Laura Kinney 'The Best Superhero of 2018' for X-Men: Red, All-New Wolverine and X-23, and they gave a whole lot of love to Gabby Kinney too.

It's especially hard to have to say goodbye to Laura and Gabby.

I'm not sure if Gabby has a future at Marvel, but I truly hope so - and not just because I co-created her with David López López. I know she's meant a lot to a lot of people.

Thank you so much to everyone who picked up our books and went on this journey with us.

And please join us as we go from 'Snikt' and 'Bamf' to 'Thwip' - with Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man in January.

For the most part, I've enjoyed Taylor's writing and I'd have been fine with his maintaining a presence on the X-Books. But I do hope Gabby stays confined to Laura's solo with his departure. A little Honey Badger goes a very long way, and we have more than enough Wolverine derivatives running around the place.

Gabby makes me like Laura and vice versa (and both make me like Daken more). As long as Laura is around I want the whole fam.

Tom’s ‘Red’ run was good-ish, but was a little saccharine and I think came out the gate with too many characters.

I really wish sapna had the popularity (and being shoe horned) as much as gabby is/was. she was such a cool character with a lot of potential and i was sad to see her go to limbo as soon as exm got cancelled

I like Gabby and Laura as complements to each other. Not so keen on her in other contexts so far. Though, admittedly, that's been all Taylor. It could be someone else will write her in a way that appeals outside of Laura's solo books.

Honey Badger is one of the best new characters in years.

She impacts Laura in the same way Kitty, Jubilee & Armor have impacted Logan previously. She's a preteen girl experiencing the world for the first time and her only gateway to that world is her older sister who is also a superhero. Other characters have been annoying and immature (Jubilee, Young Kitty and Old kitty too). But the thing is, the forced cuteness and the constant gabby does something violent followed by an adorable behavior got so repetitive, so that it was annoying. They never gave Gabby anything else to do except that.
