I like Cinar's art. It's very old school comic book-y in a good way.
The fact that noboby even cares about knowing Angel's current state or recycling old story beats for the 40309th time really says a lot.

This is just hilariously bad. I now don't feel bad for complaining about Murder-Mode Archangel, since this is exactly what we got.
You have to wonder how three writers that are good enough individually can be so bad when they join forces. It's an enigma.
I'm thinking that the reason many enjoyed Avengers: No Surrender was because it was a celebration of Avengers both past and present. The Avengers have changed so much that the title didn't have any of the founding Avengers, but it still worked really well. I don't like the Avengers yet even I enjoyed it.
The problem with Uncanny imo is that the X-Men constantly celebrate/relive the past. So many stories are paying homage to the past that having another one is just more of the same. The 90s and Claremont were great for the X-Men, but it's time to stop living in the past. It's boring. But the problem is that many fans say they want new things and when they do they don't like it, or say things were better in the 80s/90s. It's a constant cycle where no one wins. The X-Men aren't allowed to lasting changes and growth and it's making the stories boring and repetitive. When Scott and Logan come back everything will feel just like they did 18 years ago... Whoopie.
The X-students are prime example of how little things truly change. Shouldn't most of them be official X-Men by now? How many times has Anole graduated?

Betsy should go on a romantic date with Angel again to fix his mind.
No Surrender had like, a structured plot, and emotional beats, and main characters, and a bunch of NEW IDEAS.
I underlined and made bold the most important part. Where are the new ideas? What's different about this when compared to any other X-Men story? I feel like I've seen this before so many times.
Here's a new idea: Have the government decommission Sentinels and the public's view on mutants seemingly improve. Let them have actual progress instead of having an angry mob hunt a mutant child and expecting readers to feel anything other than apathy.
This Archangel thing is a joke. It's been done so many times that I feel nothing.
"Oh no Warren is Archangel..... again!!!"
"Betsy how could you?!!!!!11!!!"

No Japanese coochie to turn Warren back to good anymore.
Time to hook him up with Jubilee.
Also as someone else stated I feel like its dragging now and it could have been done in like 7 issues. Thats enough for a TPB right?
