Batgirl, though really, nothing prevents Barbara from fulfilling both roles at the same time.

Oracle. Batgirl was never a good fit for her.

It was the role she was (initially) created for. That's like saying Batman was never a good fit for Bruce, or Robin was never a good fit for Dick.

We've seen DC try to have their cake and eat it too with Batgirl and Oracle but I don't think it's really worked out so well.

I like Barbara more as Oracle, since I like her mature character. I feel DC doesn't allow Barbara to grow as Batgirl (although she sees more mature in the last issues).

However, I don't want Barbara to be Oracle if this means that she must lose the movement of her legs again. Unfortunately, that would be limiting for the character (since she can not have a solo).

It certainly wasn't true all those years before TKJ. Or always after.

Both identities fit her at various points.

Oracle, all day every day. Batgirl is more iconic, but most of my favorite Barbers Gordon stories are Oracle stories save for Batgirl year one.

This. Anyone can put on a costume and be Batgirl---another inferior Batman knockoff. But Oracle was unique and actually had a greater importance to the larger DC Universe, rather than just being limited to being yet ANOTHER sidekick to Batman in Gotham.

Oracle...as she wasn't the first "Bat" Girl in the Batman mythos anyway. Also Oracle is like one of a kind and a grown up sense for the character of Barbara Gordon. As Batgirl it felt like a demotion and she doesn't grow up to become someone better beyond her tragedy.

True, but she was the first one that mattered.
Her predecessors were mainly there to be Batman and Robin's beards, while she was the equivalent to Supergirl.

Oracle, she makes a better character for it as it deals once again with our humanity. And I like Steph as Batgirl.

    Oracle
She was a much more compelling character back then as opposed to "just another member of the Bat family".
Personally, think she should go back to that role and run ops for the rest of the Bat Family which in itself is way way way too large; needs culling.

I'd have to disagree. I always found Batgirl to be completely out of place in the Batman stories until the Huntress and later Cass one turned up in No Man's Land.
